NYC: CAROLE DEMAS: SUMMER NIGHTS AT THE BEECHMAN
Carole Demas, Broadway's original "Sandy" (Grease), and Star of TV's "The Magic Garden" will warm up two summer nights at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATER (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909 - ). Performances are on Thursday, July 22nd and Saturday, July 24th, both shows at 7:00 pm. The singing actress presents eclectic music from an eclectic life: Broadway, Classic Pop, Rock, Great American Songbook and more. The program is directed by Charles Repole, and also features performances by music director Ian Herman (piano), Sean Harkness, (guitar), and special guest performers, Paula Janis, Ilene Kristen and Josh Franklin. Carole Demas has played a wide range of dramatic and comic roles during her multi-faceted career but she is best known for her critically acclaimed creation of the female lead, "Sandy," in the original Broadway blockbuster musical Grease, and for her co-starring role in The Magic Garden, the most successful regional show in the history of children's television.
