NYC: PERRY PAYNE AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

NYC: PERRY PAYNE AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

Singer/actress/comedienne Perry Payne will perform at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 - ) Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday, July 6th, 7th & 9th at 7:00 pm, accompanied by Michael Rice and His Travelling Three. With Ray Kilday on bass, Steve Bartosik on percussion and Amy Hamilton-Soto on violin, Perry has hand-picked an eclectic program that includes the music of Adair, Wallowich, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Cy Coleman, Steve Randoy, Ethel Waters and Mancini, alongside fellow Southerners Trisha Yearwood and Michael Rice & Mike Craver, and pop superstars Sting and Pink. The evening aims to offer a breezy diversion from a crazy year, chaperoned by Payne, a well-traveled New York-based entertainer. She is remembered for her off-Broadway performance in Keith Thompson's "Kooky Tunes" as well as her holiday novelty single "Santa Claus Won't Get Lit Up (At the Trailer Park Gate This Year)," which she wrote with Rice, and has become an annual Christmastime favorite at radio stations across the nation and featured in Billboard Magazine as a Top Ten Holiday Song for much of this decade. During the day, Payne is a Senior Vice President for Prudential Douglas Elliman and works with partner Jeff Dyksterhouse and their theatre-specialized residential team in Douglas Elliman's Westside office. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
