NYC: LAURIE VEGA THE JAZZ DIVA OF SPANISH HARLEM
Laurie Vega, the Jazz Diva of Spanish Harlem, will be performing live at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Saturday June 19th at 5:00 pm. Her musical director is Frank Doyle. Laurie is a professionally trained vocalist specializing in jazz standards; born and raised in Spanish Harlem; graduated from the famed High School of Music & Art in New York City; studied at Mannes School of Music; has a minor in music from SUNY/New Paltz and has performed throughout the city at establishments such as Don't Tell Mama, Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola, Creole, Orbit, The Players Theatre, and many more clubs and special events. In addition to performing in New York, Laurie spent 7 years in Naples Florida and Orlando Florida. There, Laurie performed regularly at such places as the Pelican Bay Country Club, Jazz Club at CityWalk, the House of Blues, the Grand Bohemian Hotel, the Citrus Club, Heidi's Jazz Club, many outdoor jazz concerts, benefits and private functions. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
