NYC: MABEL MERCER CABARET CONVENTION AT ROSE HALL

The Mabel Mercer Foundation presents the New York Cabaret Convention at FREDERICK P. ROSE HALL (Columbus Circle, Broadway at 60th Street, NYC - CenterCharge: 212-721-6500) on Monday through Thursday, October 20th through 23rd all shows at 6:00 pm. The Third Show of the Conventions is "COME ON AND HEAR" - Songs of Irving Berlin - presented on Thursday, October 23rd - hosted by Klea Blackhurst: Performers are Terry Burrell, Jeffry Denman, John Treacy Egan, Peggy Eason, Gregory Generet, Anita Gillette, Mandy Gonzalez, Nicolas King, Rebekah Lowin, Karen Mason, Sidney Myer, Karen Oberlin, Spider Saloff, Stacy Sullivan. As with all live entertainment events, cast subject to change without notice. Since its inception in 1989, the Convention has hosted more than a thousand performers, all of whom work in their own ways to keep alive the tradition of cabaret in this country and abroad. The Foundation continues to keep some tickets for each performance priced at an incredible $25 per seat plus outreach to senior centers and complimentary tickets to high schools in the greater New York area. Tickets are $25-$100 and available at Their goal is to provide universal access to these incomparable entertainers and their timeless repertoire.

NYC: STEVEN ZUMBO AT DON'T TELL MAMA

Steven Zumbo returns to DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Thursday, October 23rd at 7:30 pm. As always, he will present an eclectic show of story and song. In a Steven Zumbo show you can expect to hear material from the American song book, pop and theatre songs and novelty numbers along with a mix of story-telling, both touching and hilarious, all perfectly blended into an hour long show. Gerry Dieffenbach is musical director, Helen Baldassare directs. Steven Zumbo has appeared at Don't Tell Mama dozens of times in as many years as well as The Duplex and Eighty Eights. He is alum of the Eugene O'Neill Cabaret Symposium where he studied with Julie Wilson, Tex Arnold, Craig Carnelia and the late Margaret Whiting. Steven Zumbo has also appeared on the Today Show with Katie Couric during her "dream job" segment and has performed with Tony Bennett and Ms. Couric at Caroline's in NYC. NYC: BROADWAY SESSIONS THURSDAYS AT THE LAURIE BEECHMAN

Every Thursday night, as the curtains fall on Broadway, Host Ben Cameron (from Broadway's Wicked, Aida and Footloose) and his crew of amazingly talented folks welcome a new Broadway star to perform at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) at 10:30 pm in this fun and zany musical theater variety show. Get up close and personal with Broadway's brightest as the stars bare their souls, interact with the crowd and celebrate all things BROADWAY. There is a $5 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum. 

NYC: BEN RIMALOWER DEBUTS NEW PLAY "BAD WITH MONEY" 

Ben Rimalower debuts new play "Bad With Money" at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE(61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) running on Thursdays at 9:30 pm, September 4th through November 6th. Ben Rimalower's addiction to spending beyond his means has driven him to extreme lengths all his life. In BAD WITH MONEY he charts his sometimes hilarious, sometimes harrowing struggle to overcome his problem - or get rich trying. "Bad With Money" is written and performed by Ben Rimalower and directed by Aaron Mark. Rimalower's first solo show, the long-running hit Patti Issues, explored his obsession with Broadway diva Patti LuPone and his relationship with his troubled gay father. Bad with Money delves into even deeper personal territory with the story of his struggle with debt - a journey that takes him through drug addiction, prostitution, fraud and multiple betrayals. There is a $25-$50 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: JANICE & VINNIE ZUMMO AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

Janice & Vinnie Zummo will perform at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Thursday, October 23rd at 7:00 pm. Janice has long been a staple in the NYC club scene. She is a very accomplished singer song writer and together with Vinnie has recorded over 6 albums including the latest one Jazz Album. She possess a voice capable of great emotion. Vinnie is best known for his 7 years with the Joe Jackson Band, being a top call NYC session player, arranger, producer as well as his putting out his own very eclectic solo albums. He's guested on albums by such diverse acts as Roger Daltrey, Shawn Colvin, Mike Mainieri, Paul Carack and many others. Vinnie's version of Jingle Bells can be heard in the recent smash movie Ironman3 .and he recenly wrote two songs for the popular Ray Donovan TV show. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum. 

NYC: KATIE MCGRATH: "LOVE IN THE DESERT: ROMANCE IN THE AGE OF SCARCITY"

Katie McGrath brings her show "Love in the Desert: Romance in the Age of Scarcity" to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Thursday, October 23rd at 9:30 pm. There will also be a special guest appearance by Ethan Edwards. Neal Richardson is Music Director. A portion of the proceeds to benefit The Megan Foundation. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum. 

NYC: MARK NADLER AT CAFE NOCTAMBULO

Singer/Pianist Mark Nadler will perform at CAFE NOCTAMBULO AT PANGEA (178 Second Avenue, NYC - 212-995-0900) on Thursday & Friday, October 24th & 25th with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Mark Nadler is an internationally acclaimed singer, pianist, tap-dancer and comedian. His recent off-Broadway hit, I'm a Stranger Here Myself, has been honored with the 2013 Nightlife Award and was nominated for a Drama Desk Award and two Broadway World Awards. The show was presented at The Adelaide Cabaret Festival in Adelaide, Australia, where it was nominated for the prestigious Helpmann Award. Additionally, Mark Nadler's Broadway Hootenanny has become a staple of the Adelaide Festival, where Mark has performed an unprecedented six times. Mr. Nadler has performed at Carnegie Hall with the New York Pops Orchestra Mark Nadlerand has been a soloist with the Baltimore Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, Oregon Symphony, National Arts Centre Symphony in Ottawa and others. At Philadelphia's 14,000 seat Mann Center for the Performing Arts, Mark did a solo two-act evening with the New York Pops, as well as Three Singular Sensations with Marvin Hamlisch and Martin Short. NYC: 54 BELOW PRESENTS BROADWAY BALLYHOO

Scott Siegel's critically acclaimed Broadway Ballyhoo, which regularly features great Broadway and nightclub stars in New York City, returns on Thursday, October 23rd at 7:00 pm at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551). This ever-changing musical variety show, soon to begin its third year of performances, continues to present all-star casts. For this show Scott welcomes to the stage Amanda Green, Karen Akers, and more. There is a $25-$35 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum. 

NYC: CAROLE J. BUFFORD WITH BOULEVARD OF BROKEN DREAMS

The universally acclaimed cabaret star, Carole J. Bufford, returns to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) for one night only on Thursday, October 23rd at 9:30 pm. She will present a brand new show provocatively titled Boulevard of Broken Dreams. Compared by critics on both sides of the Atlantic to iconic stars as diverse as Barbra Streisand, Judy Garland, and Ethel Merman, Ms. Bufford is ultimately her own unique creation of deep passion coupled with vocal ferocity. In this special concert performance she will be performing songs written by composers as diverse as Rodgers & Hart, Kander & Ebb, and Randy Newman. This will be the only chance to see her in this new show before she begins her West Coast tour. There is a $25-$35 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum. 

NYC: BUSTER POINDEXTER AT THE CAFE CARYLE

Buster Poindexter will perform at THE CAFE CARLYLE (35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-744-1600) on Tuesday through Saturday, October 21st through 25th at 8:45 pm. Buster Poindexter is the alter ego of New York Dolls frontman David Johansen. Johansen re-recorded the track "Heart of Gold" as Buster Poindexter, which originally appeared on Johansen's 1981 solo album Here Comes the Night. The song "Hot Hot Hot" was a Billboard single and received heavy play on MTV. There is a $50-$130 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
