NEW HOPE, PA: EDDIE BRUCE "SONGS FOR AN AUTUMN SUNDAY"
Eddie Bruce brings his show "Songs for an Autumn Sunday" to THE RRAZZ ROOM IN NEW HOPE (6426 Lower York Road, New Hope, PA - 888-596-1027) on Sunday, October 19th at 7:00 pm. Bruce, in a rare "Unplugged" performance will be accompanied only by pianist Tom Adams. The simplicity of piano and voice performing songs inspired by the changing of the season and the special feeling of a cool Autmun Sunday in New Hope. It should prove to be a sweet fun engaging evening among friends with songs from the heart including When October Goes, The Secret of Life, Autumn Leaves and A Sunday Kind of Love and more. WASHINGTON, DC: JOSHUA REDMAN TRIO AT BLUES ALLEY
The Joshua Redman Trio (with Ruben Rogers & Gregory Hutchinson), performs at BLUES ALLEY(1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC - 202-337-4141) on Thursday through Sunday, October 16th through 19th with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Joshua Redman is one of the most acclaimed and charismatic jazz artists to have emerged in the decade of the 1990s. Born in Berkeley, California, he is the son of legendary saxophonist Dewey Redman and dancer Renee Shedroff. He was exposed at an early age to a variety of musics (jazz, classical, rock, soul, Indian, Indonesian, Middle-Eastern, African) and instruments (recorder, piano, guitar, gatham, gamelan), and began playing clarinet at age nine before switching to what became his primary instrument, the tenor saxophone, one year later. Joshua Redman has been nominated for 2 Grammys and has garnered top honors in critics and readers polls of DownBeat, Jazz Times, The Village Voice and Rolling Stone. He wrote and performed the music for Louis Malle's final film Vanya on 42nd Street, and is both seen and heard in the Robert Altman film Kansas City. There is a $43 cover. 
BETHESDA, MD: SAMMY FIGUEROA & GLAUCIA NASSER PRESENT "TALISMAN"
"Talisman" featuring Sammy Figueroa and Glaucia Nasser, will be presented at BETHESDA BLUES & JAZZ SUPPER CLUB (7719 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, MD - 240-330-4500) on Sunday, October 19th at 7:30 pm. "Talisman" is a perfect balance between the exciting Latin percussion of double Grammy nominee and renowned musician Sammy Figueroa (Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, David Bowie, Mariah Carey and many more) and Brazilian singer Glaucia Nasser. Percussionist Sammy Figueroa is considered one of the world's great musicians. In a career spanning over thirty years he has played with Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, the Brecker Brothers, Mariah Carey, David Bowie, John McLaughlin, Arturo Sandoval, Paquito D'Rivera, Chaka Khan, Blues Traveler, Ashford and Simpson, Natalie Merchant and countless others. He has also co-produced several albums, most notably the Cuban a cappella group Vocal Sampling. Glaucia has garnered critical praise from notable names of Brazilian music, such as Nelson Motta, Roberto Menescal and Ivan Lins. Glaucia's four previous albums have been extremely well received by the media and fans alike. Her extensive concerts and world tours have built a fantastic following.
