TORONTO: THE THREE LAURAS: MARKS, FERNANDEZ, HUBERT

Toronto-based vocalists Laura Marks, Laura Fernandez and Laura Hubert will be performing together on the same stage for the first time for this occasion at THE JAZZ BISTRO (251 Victoria Street, Toronto, ONT, CA - 416-363-5299) on Tuesday, May 13th at 8:00 pm. Born into a musical family, Laura Marks has enjoyed a vibrant career as a visual artist, and recently released her debut jazz recording, "57 Minutes." Marks sings with the same quiet intensity and sensuality that informs her paintings. Laura Fernandez is truly a Renaissance woman. A longtime Torontonian who was born in Madrid, Spain and later relocated with her family to Switzerland and Calgary, Alberta, she is a talented singer-songwriter, pianist, music producer, painter, illustrator/designer, radio host/producer. Laura Hubert prefers to think of herself as a singer of "old songs." That term perfectly describes the eclectic repertoire of standards, blues and western swing that she delivers with such passion and style. There is a $15 cover.

WASHINGTON D.C.: ALTHEA RENE AT BLUES ALLEY

Althea Rene will perform atBLUES ALLEY (1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC - 202-337-4141) on Tuesday, May 13th with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Althea is a genuine diva of Nu Jazz, R&B, and Smooth Soul: a tenacious monarch with lips, lungs and fingers of gold. Every concert goer will be "rocked" by all the songs performed by this artist. So, let it be known far and wide, that if you haven't visited the kingdom of jazz flautist, Althea Rene, you really must partake in the panoply of her "flava" filled abilities. WASHINGTON, DC: DONVONTE McCOY: BOHEMIAN CAVERNS ARTIST IN RESIDENCE

Donvonte McCoy has been appointed as Artist in Residence, and will appear Tuesdays in May atBOHEMIAN CAVERNS(2001 Eleventh Street N.W., Washington, DC - 202-299-0800). Donvonte McCoy is one of today's finest Jazz trumpeter's. His band was named best Jazz Quintet of 2013 by the Washington DC City Paper. His debut CD was rated in the top five of 2011 by the prestigous Capitol Bop website. Donvonte spends most of his time leading his ensemble at DC's world renowned Eighteenth Street Lounge. It is at the lounge that Donvonte exposes many new ears to Jazz music. Call for cover/minimum information.

SAN DIEGO: "BROADWAY BOUND" AT MARTINI'S ABOVE FOURTH

The SDSU Cabaret All-Stars presents "Broadway Bound" atMARTINI'S ABOVE FOURTH (3940 4th Avenue, San Diego, CA - 619-400-4500) on Tuesday, May 13th at 8:00 pm. The show is hosted by the NYC Cabaret Diva Sasha Weiss. Join her on Tuesdays to see the rising stars of the future. From SDSU Theatre Department Students to young performers being groomed for a future on Broadway, you will be seeing some of the stars of tomorrow!
