NYC: HERE'S TO THE LADIES: AN EXPLORATION OF WOMEN'S NAMES IN SONG

Craig Pomranz brings his newest show to one of NYC's newest clubs,SOPHIE'S NEW YORK (318 West 53rd Street, NYC - 212-757-2323) on Fridays, May 16th & 23rd at 7:00 pm. The show ' Here's To The Ladies' is an exploration of women's names in song. From Mick Jagger's Angie to Mel Torme's Lulu, Craig will take you on an exploration of women in song! Some of the most beloved songs are a tribute to a particular woman and a particular story. From serious to deliriously silly, and from start to finish, this is a party you won't want to miss. This is a show that guarantees both smiles and sighs. Craig has distinguished himself consistently in his live shows by performing music from the Great American Songbook that is not over-recorded, contemporary pop, as well as more unusual songs he has collected from songwriters through the years. Performing classic standards and brand-new material - with his own unique talent and compelling vocal style, Craig offers a one-stop entertainment experience recognized for a timeless style in the tradition of Chet Baker, Sammy Davis Jr. and Frank Sinatra. NYC: JULIE BUDD CELEBRATES HER NEW CD AT THE MET

Julie Bodd will celebrate her new CD "They Wrote the Songs" (released in April) atTHE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Thursday, May 15th at 7:00 pm, with additional performances on Friday & Saturday, the 16th & 17th at 7:00 pm and Sunday the 18th at 4:00 pm. Budd is backed by a quartet led by her long-time music director Herb Bernstein on piano. The combo includes Lew Scott on bass, Sam Lazzarra on drums and Art Weiss on keyboards. In the show, Budd sheds her bright vocal light on newer songwriters of our generation, at least nothing written before the mid-'60s! "They Wrote The Songs" includes unreleased compositions by Ann Hampton Callaway, and Steve Dorff, as well as songs from a host of other climates like The Beatles, Anthony Newley and even Broadway's "The Wiz." NYC: BROADWAY CREDITS! MICAH McCAIN

Returning to THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Friday, May 16th at 9:30 pm, after his sold out NYC Cabaret debut show: "HEY GURL!", Beauty and the Beast 'Bonjour, Girl!' YouTube Sensation Micah McCain takes to the stage with his new show: 'Broadway Credits'. He chose this title because sometimes, when you're starting out in New York, the only way to get Broadway credits on your resume, is to ACTUALLY do a show called Broadway Credits. Then put THAT on your resume! The show is an evening of songs, stories, cocktails and Laura Benanti Side-Eyed exits...set to music! There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
NYC: AWAKENING - GREGORY NALBONE

Gregory will be presenting songs inspired by the passion of the emerging season. Vocalist & Entertainer Gregory Nalbone has taken New York City by storm and is selling out concert halls and cabaret theaters with his handsome, endearing performances and sophisticated, passionate voice. Gregory takes on songs from Cole Porter to Mick Jagger and delivers his emotional, heartfelt renditions while making them his own. NYC: THE JANES: GIRL GROUP CELEBRATION AT STAGE 72

The girl group The Janes will appear at STAGE 72 (158 West 72nd Street, NYC - 212-362-2590) on Friday, May 16th at 7:00 pm. With their fabulous band, The Janes will roar into jaw-dropping arrangements by the Boswell, Andrews and McGuire Sisters of the 30s, 40s and 50s exactly as those extraordinary gals sang them. NYC: THANK YOU FOR BEING A FRIEND

After sold out runs in 2009 & 2010, Thank You For Being A Friend returns to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) for its third limited-run engagement. Performances are Fridays, May 9th & 23rd at 10:00 pm and May 16th & & 30th at 7:00 pm. This unauthorized musical parody inspired by the beloved TV sitcom "The Golden Girls," features book by Nick Brennan, music by Jeff Thomson, and lyrics by Luke Jones and Cisco Cardenas. In the show four women over 60 (Blanchette, the varicose-veined vixen; Dorthea, the brainy ball-buster; Roz, the lovable airhead; and Sophie, the wisecracking spitfire) are spending their golden years together in a wicker-filled bungalow in Miami. But when gay pop superstar Ricky Martin moves next door, his loud outdoor sex parties keep the quartet of cheesecake-loving retirees awake. The solution pits the gays against the girls at the annual Shady Oaks Retirement Home Talent Show: if the women win, then no more sex parties; if the gays garner top prize, the sassy seniors must serve as the party's clean-up crew. NYC cabaret favorite Steve Tyrell will perform at THE CAFE CARLYLE (35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-744-1600) on Tuesdays through Saturdays, May 6th through 17th at 8:45 pm, with an added late show on Saturdays at 10:45 pm. (No show on Friday, May 9th). The Grammy Award-winning vocalist is truly a renaissance man. In his almost 5 decades in the music business, he has achieved great success as an artist, producer, songwriter, music supervisor, and performer. His hits "The Way You Look Tonight," "The Simple Life," "Crush On You" and "The Sunny Side of The Street," have launched thousands of weddings and millions of romances. He's held top positions at Standards, Swing, and Big Band outlets with a devoted following at key Adult Contemporary Radio. He has appeared with The Boston Pops, twice with The New York Pops, The Nashville Symphony, and The Houston Symphony on several occasions.
