NYC: "TOO BLONDES" WITH SAVANNAH BROWN AND CHASE O'DONNELL

Savannah Brown and Chase O'Donnell present "Too Blonds" at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, August 2nd at 4:00 pm. Chase and Savannah are two recent college grads navigating their way through life. They will perform a show full of songs and sketches to inform you on the ups and downs of being a twenty something girl in the Big Apple. Gavin Leatherwood serves as Music Director, on Guitar, joined by Oliver Switzer on Guitar. Savannah Brown is a 2014 graduate of the UCLA School of Theatre, Film, and Television, living, working, and studying in New York City. Theatre credits include: "Desire Under the Elms," "The Sound of Music," "Guys and Dolls," and "Meet Me in St. Louis," among others. She recently made her network television debut on The Lifetime Movie Network and is excited to begin filming her first feature this month. Chase O'Donnell recently made the move to New York City from Los Angeles to make her off-Broadway debut in One Day the Musical. Chase graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a BFA in acting. Theater credits include, Inappropriate (Odyssey Theater), Metamorphoses (Ensemble Theater Company), and Meet Me in St. Louis (Cabrillo Music Theater). She is writing and creating new material with Savannah Brown. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: FUNNY FOR MONEY COMPETITION AT THE MET

"Funny for Money", a brand-new contest for stand-up comics, starts at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, running through Sunday, August 2nd at 9:30 pm. THE METROPOLITAN ROOM is looking for NYC's funniest stand-up comedian! Hundreds of applicants have entered but only 39 will compete for the title with their best five minute sets. Host for the competition is the hilarious Rich Aronovitch. THE FIRST PRELIMINARY ROUND on August 2nd will feature the following 13 comics who will be competing, with only 4 advancing to the final round:

Aaron Kominos-Smith, Brian Frange, Debbie Bazza, Gary Levitt, Harrison Tweed, Job Mixson, Justin Lanza, Justin Peele, Linda Browne, Oscar Aydin, Rachel Joan, Rob Petric, and Zach Erwin.

Each round of the competition is decided by three judges:

Jon Fursh - comedy writer and producer who directed hundreds of videos with notable comedians that have amassed millions of views

Joseph Macchia - booking director at Metropolitan Room and producer of Metrostar and New York's Next Top Drag Queen contests.

Audience vote - the most important judging component

The final round will take place on Sunday, August 30th. The top 12 finalists will compete (4 chosen each week), but only one will be crowned the winner onstage at the conclusion of the final round. The winner will be awarded a $500 grand prize and invited to headline an upcoming show at Metropolitan Room. The first and second runners-up are invited to open for the headliner on this upcoming show. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
