NYC: THIS WEEK AT MARK JANAS' SALON: "BITS & PIECES"
SALON - that unique, Multiple Award Winning, Weekly Open Mic Event, created and hosted by Mark Janas continues at ETCETERA ETCETERA(352 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-399-4141) on Sundays from 7:00 to 10:30 pm (sign-up begins at 6:15 pm). Salon is an ongoing open entertainment event in which singers, writers and musicians share their talent with each other and audience members. The optional theme for Sunday evening August 2nd is "Bits & Pieces". Guest Host/Pianist will be MAC & Bistro Award Winner Barry Levitt! Co-Hosts will be Dana Lorge & Warren Schein. Remember, any material, on or off theme, is always welcome at Salon. There are no reservations; seating is on a first come/ first served basis, with one intermission. There is a $10 cash cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.

PALM SPRINGS: DIANE PANCEL RETURNS TO PALM DESERT WITH "LADIES IN SONG"
Singer and actor Diane Pancel returns once again to THE ARTHUR NEWMAN THEATRE at the JOSLYN CENTER (73-750 Catalina Way, Palm Desert, CA - TKTS: 760-325-2731) on Sunday, August 2nd in her new one-woman musical concert, "Ladies Of Song". Presented by Les Michaels Sundays In Summer Cabaret Series, Diane's show is a sequel to last season's hit "Ladies Of Hollywood", a tribute to Doris Day, and Judy Garland, with the addition of such greats as Ella Fitzgerald, Rosemary Clooney, Julie Andrews, Barbra Streisand, Whitney Houston, and more, with and eclectic mix of American Songbook, Broadway, and the Movies. A native of Canada, Diane's voice is featured in over 200 TV and radio commercials, both speaking and singing jingles, in addition to both TV series and feature films. She has toured and performed extensively, with music stars like David Foster, Nelly Furtado, and Leanne Rimes, to name just a few. Joining Ms. Pancel on piano will be music director, Terry Cole. This will be Diane's third appearance at Arthur Newman Theatre. There is an $11 cash cover.
