NYC: LANEY, MR. EAGLE 2015 PRESENTS AN EVENING OF LEATHER AND LACE

Laney, Mr Eagle 2015, will present a very special evening of Cabaret featuring some of the hottest singers from Broadway and LGBT Leather Community at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Thursday, August 6th at 9:30 pm. They will be rocking the roof off The Metropolitan Room while ther raise funds for Help Is On The Way Today, a non for profit organization that helps children, teens and youth living with HIV and AIDS in New York City. Joseph Macchia is the founder of Help Is On The Way Today and Laney is Mr. Eagle 2015. The two met while competing for the title of Mr. Eagle and have become great friends and believe in giving back to the community. This will be the first benefit the two will be working on together. And they promise not to disappoint you. Guest performers TBA. There is a $22.50 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

Seth Rudetsky's BROADWAY CHATTERBOX returns to DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Thursdays at 5:00 pm. This week's show has has as Special Guests: Max Von Essen & Brandon Uranowitz from "American In Paris". Seth's weekly interview show always features stars, soon-to-be stars and folks behind the scenes of the musical theater stage - for just a $10 cover - 2-drink minimum. Best of all, all proceeds from the cover go to BROADWAY CARES/EQUITY FIGHTS AIDS!

The show is a new night of music and stories from one of the most hilarious and recognizable names from RuPaul's Drag Race herstory: Shangela Laquifa Wadley. With a creative mix of stand up comedy, original songs and the electrifying stage performance that Shangela has become known for, this new show promises to be loud, country and out of control. NYC: JEFFREY HARMON SMITH PRESENTS "AUDITION SONGS"

Jeffrey Harmon Smith, an escapee from the legal profession, brings his inimitable style to songs from the theatre and pop music scenes to THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) with his show "Audition Songs on Thursday, August 6th at 7:00 pm.  Jeffrey proves without a doubt there is life after the law. Jeffrey retired after 30 years as an entertainment lawyer, working mainly for CBS and Lifetime  Television, where he served as Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs. He has degrees from The University of Chicago and Georgetown Law School.   Jeffrey has studied acting at Stella Adler Studio and Atlantic Acting School.  He has appeared in several small and independent films. As a playwright, his series of one act plays, DATE-O-RAMA, has been produced off, off Broadway by Around the Block. He is the recipient of the Perrin H. Lowrey Prize for creative writing, and was a finalist for the Raymond J. Flores Short Play Festival. There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.


NYC: "DIRTY LAUNDRY" - TRIPLE THREAT COMEDY SHOW AT THE DUPLEX

NYC: DONNA MCKECHNIE RETURNS WITH "SAME PLACE: ANOTHER TIME"

Tony Award winner Donna McKechnie takes the stage of 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Thursday & Sunday, August 6th & 9th at 7:00 pm with a return engagement of Same Place: Another Time: a musical deja vu celebrating the scintillating 70's in New York City - the heyday of Studio 54. McKechnie, best known the world over for creating the role of Cassie in A Chorus Line, is also well-known for her Broadway appearances in State Fair; On the Town; Company; Promises, Promises; and How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. NYC: BRASIL SUMMERFEST PRESENTS COLADERA AT JOE'S PUB

The musical project Coladera celebrates the gathering of Joao Pires (Portugal), and two Brazilian musicians Vitor Santana and the master percussionist Marcos Suzano and three musical worlds that honor the Lusophone rhythms, and holds Portuguese speaking language as the touchstone of its present work at JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Thursday, August 6th at 7:30 pm. The worlds of Brazil and Portugal merge in a dialogue that is based only on classic guitars, percussions and voices, generating a rich and mestizo sound imaging. Hear echoes of Africa, of candomble, fado and flamenco, of samba, rumba and mambo, Portuguese language with different accents - all flavored by the special spice of Suzano's acoustic percussion. All in the crudest and most direct way. There is a $15 cover.


NYC: BRASIL SUMMERFEST PRESENTS MARCIA CASTRO AT JOE'S PUB

Brasil Summerfest presents Brazilian singer Marcia Castro at JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Thursday, August 6th at 9:30 pm. Marcia started her career in Bahia, her hometown. With three released albums, Pecadinho, De Pes No Chao and Das Coisas Que Surgem, and singing together with names such as Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil and Tom Ze, Castro is an important name in the new and promising Brazilian contemporary music scene, mixing in regional elements with universal rhythms. There is a $15 cover.
