LONG BEACH, NY: THE 7TH ANNUAL BARRIER BEACH BLUES AND ARTS FESTIVAL
The 7th Annual Barrier Beach Blues and Arts Festival, an eclectic mix of Classic Blues, Americana, Soul and Roots music, will be held at THE LONG BEACH PUBLIC LIBRARY (111 West Park Avenue, Long Beach, NJ) and other area venues on Friday through Sunday, June 12th through 14th. The event is co-sponsored by Artists in Partnership, Inc., providing cultural arts programs to the community for over 15 years. This year boasts the artistry of Debbie Davies, a two-time Best Contemporary Blues Artist award winner and top blues singer, songwriter and guitar player on Sunday, June 14th at 3:00 pm. On Friday, June 12th at 8:00 pm, award winning and internationally and nationally acclaimed Toby Walker, a roots music finger style guitar virtuoso, will be taking the stage. Saturday evening, June 13th at 7:30 pm, join the HOODOO HONEYDRIPPERS, a Blues Duo out of Brooklyn and at 8:30 pm enjoy a performances of Grammy nominated and former James Cotton Blues Band member, Slam Allen. ORLANDO, FL: LORRI HAFER AT THE TIMUCUA WHITE HOUSE IN ORLANDO
World renowned Big Band/ Jazz vocalist Lorri Hafer will be performing on Sunday, June 14th at 7:30 pm at THE TIMUCUA WHITE HOUSE(2000 South Summerlin, Orlando, FL - 407-595-2713). Lorri will be joined with her husband Mike Hafer on piano, their son, bassist Paul Hafer, and drummer Dave Dunscombe and will present an evening of Lorri's favorite jazz standards. Lorri was the lead vocalist with the Hillside Singers on their worldwide hit, "I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing In Perfect Harmony". She is a sultry singer who has performed with several prestigious Big Bands including the Glenn Miller Orchestra and Les Brown's Band Of Renown. She is currently an "on air" personality for the "Music Of Your Life " radio network. The atmosphere is similar to a house concert.
