CHICAGO: JORDAN SINGS SONGS OF THE 27 CLUB
The 27 Club is a term that refers to a number of popular musicians who died at age 27, often as a result of drug and alcohol abuse, or violent means such as homicide or suicide. The vocal group Jordan will salute them in their show 'The 27 Club' at DAVENPORT'S (1383 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL - 773-278-1830) on Saturday, June 27th at 8:00 pm. The number of musicians who have died at this age and the circumstances of many of those deaths have given rise to the idea that premature deaths at this age are unusually common. The list includes Amy Winehouse, Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, Alan "Blind Owl" Wilson, Ron "Pigpen" Les, Harvey McKernan and more. Their songs are brilliant, they are known worldwide and have remained popular over the years. This is our tribute to all these folk who died too young. Call for cover/minimum information.
