NYC: TERESA EGGERTSEN COOKE - "MOTHER'S DAY MARTINI MATINEE" - AT 4:00 PM

Teresa Eggertsen Cooke returns to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, May 10th at 4:00 pm with a special Mother's Day program, a "Mother's Day Martini Matinee" Contemporary jazz singer-pianist Teresa Eggertsen Cooke returns to the Metropolitan Room after her Christmas program "Joy!". The lady from Park City, Utah, who is a proud mom, is making Mother's Day special for her fellow mom's, moms to be and other parents with "Mother's Day Martini Matinee". Likened to the afternoon cocktail shows of the past, the Sunday "Mother's Day Martini Matinee" evokes a great wave of nostalgia for the ladies in the audience. The shows of past times like Mother's Day were just for them. The era was one of the perfect mixed drink, the most beautiful hat, when ladies wore glove and couture dresses. We may be in 2015, but we still love to be entertained. Teresa Eggertsen Cooke is an entertainer who bridges many eras. She brings a wonderfully curious hybrid to her performance: Her voice has a beautiful husky translucence, steeped in the 1970s. She is a Cabaret artist, who is equally adept performing the standard from the Great American Songbook and the Classic Rock canon of Neil Diamond, Elton John, Carole King and Joni Mitchell. Teresa will be performing several songs in honor of Mothers on Mothers Day: "Sing me down a Song", by Neena Freelon, "Circle", an original song by Miss Eggertsen Cooke, which was written in memory of a dear friends Mother; "Tea for Two" by Vincent Youmans (from "No, No, Nanette"); and tunes by Sir Elton, Joni Mitchell, The Gershwins, Cole Porter and Marvin Gaye. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: ALISON ARNGRIM: CONFESSIONS OF A PRAIRIE BITCH - AT 1:00 PM

Best known as acid-tongued, pre-Midol meanie Nellie Oleson from "Little House on the Prairie", Alison Arngrim presents an uproarious evening of storytelling, stand-up, and multi media about life as everyone's favorite toxic pre-teen brat, complete with petticoats and ringlets. Never afraid to dish the dirt on TV land, she let all the secrets loose of "Little House on the Prairie", Hollywood and much. Recalling her life and career as bitchy Nellie Oleson, Arngrim startles audiences internationally with off-color jokes about child stars and TV icons of the 1970s and 80s including Marie Osmond, Melissa Gilbert, Michael Landon, Grizzly Adams, RuPaul, Phyllis Diller, Bette Midler and more. Featuring a mix of blues of many stripes, from the Delta to Broadway, Chicago and Memphis, "Pompie's Place" is a hybrid of nightclub and theatre, in which audiences are treated not just to a spicy Cajun meal, but to the deep-dish travails of the club's three headliners, and the club's host. NYC: THE N'HARMONICS AT JOE'S PUB - AT NOON

The N'Harmonics forge tight harmonies, screlt unwritten riffs, and redefine a cappella. Their vocal band encompasses all sounds ranging from classic rock to pop to jazz. When you listen to the N'Harms, you can expect seriously tight harmonies, waterfall riffing, whistle tones that only dogs can hear, ungodly bass notes, insane beatboxing, and terribly high belting, among a slew of other vocal acrobatics. Arrangements include pieces based on the music of The Allman Brothers, Emily King, Chet Faker, Kimbra, Whitney Houston, The Dirty Projectors and Kyrstal Warren (to name a few). Founded in NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in 1997, their alumni have been seen and heard on GLEE, as well as on Broadway and national tours including American Idiot, Anything Goes, West Side Story, Wicked, Mamma Mia, Hair, Spring Awakening, and Bring it On!
