The Dana Lorge Variety Show returns to the THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-04405) on Friday, May 15th at 7:00 pm. NYC: JEFF MACAULEY - MR. LUCKY: THE SONGS OF HENRY MANCINI
Jeff Macauley is a Backstage Bistro Award winning New York based cabaret singer whose last show was "It Was Me, The Lyrics of Norman Gimbel" now turns to 4-time Oscar and 20-time Grammy winner Henry Mancini in his new show "Mr. Lucky: The Songs of Henry Mancini" at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Friday, May 15th at 9:30 pm. Mancini wrote some of the most loved movie songs of the '60s through the '70s. Among his best known compositions were "Moon River," "The Days Of Wine And Roses," "Two For The Road," and "Charade," as well as instrumentals such as "The Pink Panther," "The Baby Elephant Walk" and the "Peter Gunn Theme." Mancini also wrote many classic film scores, including: Touch Of Evil, Hatari, Arabesque, and Victor/Victoria. Jeff's previous show, "It Was Me", has been performed in both Los Angeles and New York and is now a studio recording available on CDBaby and Amazon. In his previous shows, Jeff Macauley explored the rich world of early musical films in "Hollywood Party - Movie Songs 1928-1934," and paid tribute to the most popular female singer of the 40's and a beloved Hollywood icon in "MWAH! The Dinah Shore Show," for which he received Backstage magazine's Bistro Award. Jeff continues his exploration of great american popular song of the last century through legendary film composer Henry Mancini's rich musical legacy under the musical direction of the superbly talented Tex Arnold, who also wrote the arrangements. NYC: ASHLEY MENARD - PUT DOWN THE DICK AND PICK UP THE MIC!
Ashley Menard, a fearless NYC cabaret singer, improviser and actor brings her new show, 'Put Down The Dick & Pick Up The Mic' to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Friday, May 15th at 11:30 pm. The show is a scandalous collection of musical theater, pop, and original parodies. Ashley is the rare performer whose range encompasses the natural, the whacky, and all in between; with such a huge skill set, it is only fair she has been given a voice capable of commanding a room, as well as the many voices in her head.Ashley put a new flair on songs made famous by Idina Menzel, Eden Espinoza, Stephanie J. Block, Alanis Morissette, Bridget Everett, Carly Jibson, Julie Andrews, Tori Amos and Liza Minnelli. Menard takes the audience through a time warp of disaster dates, walks of shame, and positive body image at any size. Through song, story and musical impressions Ashley promises to have you laughing from the moment she hits the stage till her curtain call. NYC: BEN RIMALOWER: PATTI ISSUES TONIGHT
The acclaimed show 'Patti Issues' will be performed by Ben Rimalower at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Friday, May 15th at 7:00 pm. 'Patti Issues' mark's Rimalower's debut as a playwright and performer, after serving as the director of numerous Off-Broadway plays, concerts and all-star benefits (and blogging for the Huffington Post). With a mix of comic irreverence, stark candor and show-biz bravado, Patti Issues poignantly explores the challenges facing LGBT parents and children while shining unique light on gay men's time-old obsessions with divas. When Ben Rimalower was eight years old, his father came out of the closet and embarked on a drug-fueled tear that left his family in tatters. Amid the chaos of his young life, Ben found comfort - like so many gay boys before him and after - in musical theater, and specifically in the transportive voice of Broadway star Patti LuPone. No Filters Please is a brand new sketch comedy group birthed right here in NYC. It will perform at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Friday, May 15th at 9:30 pm. If you only like normal people and don't enjoy laughing, then "get out of here". The show "Welcome to New York" really shows how New York City is the city where dreams come true or where dreams come to die. NYC: SETH BISEN-HERSH'S 350TH SHOWCASE OCTOPALOOZA
This spring, Seth Bisen-Hersh will celebrate his 8th anniversary producing, emceeing and accompanying Talent Showcases at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) as he hits 350 showcases on Friday, April 24th at 7:00 pm and will present 4 additional concerts of his songs featuring 84 showcase alumni. The additional dates are Friday, May 1st; Tuesday, May 5th; Tuesday, May 12th; and Friday May 15th - all shows at 7:00 pm. Bisen-Hersh is a prolific, versatile and award-winning composer/ lyricist and performer. His musicals include Love Quirks (successful limited run in NYC, September 2014, Stanley's Party (Manhattan Children's Theatre, 2010), More to Love (2014 Winner: Best Lyrics, West Village Musical Theatre Festival), The Spickner Spin (2004 Fringe NYC Audience Favorite Award), and Meaningless Sex (2003 Fringe NYC Audience Favorite Award). He has also written and starred in 9 cabaret song cycles of his work: And Then She Dumped Me, The Gayest Straight Man Alive, Meaningful Sex, Neurotic Tendencies, Why Am I Not Famous Yet?, Writer's Block: a cabaret that was hard to write, I'll Relax When I'm Dead: a reluctantly prolific cabaret, If Adele Can Do It, So Can I: an evening of mostly sorrow and Not Your Grandma's Cabaret (unless she's really naughty). He produces two annual charity concerts of his work featuring Broadway performers (Broadway Meows and Broadway Can!), writes/ stars in the web series Every Day a Little Seth (Season 5 premieres June 2015), and by May 2015, will have emceed, produced and accompanied over 350 talent showcases at Don't Tell Mama. In addition, he recently published a memoir: Sleep. Write. Now. Emerging from a dark year of insomnia, anxiety and depression from loss. He has two Bachelors' Degrees from MIT (Computer Science & Engineering and Music Composition) and a Masters' Degree in Music Technology from NYU. There is a $12 cover and 2 drink minimum.

Vicky Vox will make her solo cabaret debut at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909 - ) on Friday, May 15th at 10:00 pm. She is know world over for her YouTube videos with RuPaul's Drag Race stars Detox and Willam, as the trio DWV. In her new solo show, Vicky is set to blow the roof off of any building. As a former member of the drag phenomenon girl group DWV, she will be singing songs she never got the chance to sing and some songs she probably shouldn't be singing. Vicky knows that 'Because I Can' is the best excuse to let you into her world with songs she will probably ruin and others you didn't even know you needed to hear. Let the healing begin. NYC: "SEARCH: PAUL CLAYTON" THE MAN WHO LOVED BOB DYLAN
STAGE 72 (158 West 72nd Street, NYC - 212-362-2590) presents the New York premiere of a new folk musical, 'Search: Paul Clayton, the Man Who Loved Bob Dylan', which features 14 classic folk songs, The show will play for 13 performances only from Wednesday, May 6th through Thursday, May 21st. Showtimes and days vary so check the STAGE 72 Website. The opening night is Thursday, May 7th at 7:00 pm, with a second show on Friday, May 8th at 9:00 pm. 'Search: Paul Clayton' celebrates the true story in words and song of one of Bob Dylan's first musical mentors. Paul Clayton of New Bedford, Massachusetts was the most recorded young folk singer in America when Bobby Zimmerman arrived in 1961 Greenwich Village to begin his career as Bob Dylan. It was Paul who helped open the doors of the folk world to him. From 1961 to 1965 Paul taught Bob the tricks of the trade, while falling hopelessly in love with him. The show was conceived and written by Larry Mollin ("Beverly Hills 90210"), directed by Randal Myler (Tony Award nominee, It Ain't Nothin' But The Blues) with musical direction by Fred Mollin and is produced by Dan Whitten and TIGER Theatricals. "Search: Paul Clayton" will feature Peter Oyloe as Paul Clayton, Jared Weiss as Bob Dylan, Ereni Sevasti as Joan Baez, Jaime Babbitt as Carla Rotolo, Allan Harris as the Rev. An unforgettable cabaret event, 'The Songs Of Cy Coleman' will be presented at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Friday & Saturday, May 15th & 16th and Wednesday, May 20th, all shows at 7:00 pm. Directed & conceived by Will Nunziata, the show brings together three Broadway Leading Ladies who all originated roles on Broadway in a Cy Coleman show: Tony Award winner Randy Graff, Tony Award winner Cady Huffman, and Tony Award winner Lillias White. Fresh solo, duet, and trio arrangements of some of Cy's most beloved songs will include selections from his pop standards canon and film scores, as well as his musicals Wildcat, Little Me, Sweet Charity, Seesaw, I Love My Wife, On the Twentieth Century, Barnum, City of Angels, The Will Rogers Follies, and The Life. Ciara previously starred on Broadway in the recent revival of Pippin and Big Fish, and graced the 54 Below stage in Made For Each Other: Broadway Meets Andrew McMahon and Charlie Rosen's Broadway Big Band, both this past February. Miss Ida Blue celebrates the centennial of one of the leading queens of blues & jazz: Lady Day, at JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Friday, May 15th at 11:00 pm. Blue digs up original recordings from the 1930s is accompanied by Teddy Wilson's band, with star Lester Young on tenor saxophone. Mind you this will be no imitation...Ida will always be Ida, all the while loving Billie even more. Playing the part of Teddy will be Grammy winning pianist Conal Fowkes (Woody Allen's Jazz Band, Danny Aiello), and the part of Lester Young played by Dan Block (HBO's Grammy winning Boardwalk Empire Orchestra), with Jon-Erik Kellso on trumpet, Jay Rattman on clarinet, John Gill on guitar, Brian Nalepka on string bass and Kevin Dorn on drums.
