CHICAGO: ROBERT RODI: "THE SOUND OF MUSIC, MAN"
Robert Rodi will perform a jazz and Beat-poetry retelling of Rodgers & Hammerstein's masterwork at DAVENPORT'S(1383 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL - 773-278-1830) on Sunday, May 10th at 7:00 pm. He will be joined on stage by Justin Bernard Bowes, piano; Matt Gold, bass; Danny Faith, cajon, The hills are alive with the sound of bossa, samba, scat and swing! Jazz master Robert Rodi returns with every tune from the beloved musical, performed like you've never heard them before, from a Latin-rhythm "Maria" to a gospel "Climb Ev'ry Mountain." And tying it all together: Robert's original - and hilariously Beatnik - verse narration of the story. There is a $12 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
