NYC: MAGICIAN MATIAS; CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE MAGIC KIND

Magician Matias Letelier presents "Close Encounters Of The Magic Kind" to the THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, May 10th at 9:30 pm. Matias is the new hottest magician in NYC! His charming accent and great hair along with his unique blend of magic, mentalism, clean comedy, high energy, and lots of audience participation will make you have a fun and also memorable night. Have you ever been into an event and witnessed a magician perform with hundreds of people surrounding him; they are unable to turn their heads away from him, totally focused on every trick, every illusion; and wanting to be amazed over and over again? NYC: "TRIALS & TRIBULATIONS: A MUSICAL REVUE" AT THE DUPLEX

Talya Price & Nathan Temby return to THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Sunday, May 10th at 6:30 pm with "Trials & Tribulations: A Musical Revue". They will bring you a collection of songs detailing the epic - sometimes hilarious - struggles and triumphs on this roller coaster we call life! For the first time since 2010, powerhouse singer Talya Price and singer/songwriter Nathan Temby return to the place it all started: The Duplex. In this brand new show, the duo tackle an array of songs dealing with the ups and downs - both dramatic and comedic - that happen to everyone throughout their lives. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: A GAY SHOW FOR ALL PEOPLE! AT THE DUPLEX

Aaron Jackson (UCB) and Josh Sharp (UCB, Time Out NY Comic To Watch) host a gay show for all people at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438 - ) on Sunday, May 10th at 9:30 pm. The evening will be filled with songs and laughs from comics and queers and mostly people who are both. This month the show celebrates its One Year Anniversary featuring: Matteo Lane (Guy Code), Cole Escola (Hulu's Difficult People), Amy Jo Jackson (Kinky Boots) & Aparna Nancherla (Conan)! There is a $12 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: PUBLIC FORUM'S DRAMA CLUB: ANTIGONE

Public Forum will close its spring Drama Club season with a very special look at Sophocles' classic ANTIGONE at JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Sunday, May 10th at 7:00 pm. Rinne Groff (The Public's Ruby Sunrise, Compulsion) brings a taut one-act version of Ian Johnston's translation just in time for beginning of the 2016 election cycle. The evening will see thinkers and actors alike discussing the ethics of power, free speech, and the cost of wisdom. In addition to Groff, the evening will be led by America Ferrera and will feature director & critic Robert Brustein, The Reverend Dr. Herbert Daughtry, Denis O'Hare, and President and CEO of the New America Foundation Anne-Marie Slaughter. Public Forum, now in its fifth season, presents the theater of ideas: performances and conversations that explore dramatic literature as a way to understand society. Curated by Jeremy McCarter, this series of conversations and performances features leading voices in politics, media, and the arts. There is a $20-$50 cover - All ticket orders subject to $5 per ticket service fee and $2 per ticket facility fee. Service fees are waived when you buy in person at the Box Office. All fees are waived for Public Theater Members and Partners.

NYC: DANIEL REICHARD SINGS RODGERS AND HAMMERSTEIN AT BIRDLAND

The Broadway at Birdland concert series presents the return of Broadway and concert star Daniel Reichard to BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) on Sunday, May 10th at 6:00 pm, with a show celebrating the music and lyrics of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. The evening will feature selections from the celebrated songwriting team's catalogue, including rarely-heard jewels and treasured classics alike. Two-time Tony award nominee and Drama Desk award winner Laura Osnes will be joining Daniel onstage celebrating the Rodgers and Hammerstein songbook. The concert, presented by MusicTalks and its Artistic Director Elad Kabilio, will take place on Mother's Day and will offer insights and fascinating anecdotes about Rodgers and Hammerstein's historic partnership. Jesse Vargas will serve as musical director and arranger. With lush arrangements played by a seven-piece chamber orchestra, the audience can expect heartwarming songs from iconic Broadway musicals such as Oklahoma, South Pacific, The King and I, Carousel and The Sound of Music. Daniel Reichard made his New York City theatrical debut in Forbidden Broadway: 20th Anniversary Celebration, but is perhaps best known for originating the role of Bob Gaudio in Broadway's Jersey Boys. Other starring roles in New York City include Candide in the New York City Opera's Candide, Keith Haring in the Public Theater's Radiant Baby, and Man in The Thing About Men. For the past five seasons, Reichard, along with fellow Jersey Boys co-stars, have toured North America as "The Midtown Men," playing over 400 shows together, recording two albums, a Christmas single, and a television special for PBS. Additionally, over the years, Reichard has had a prolific cabaret career in New York City, having played dozens of solo engagements in venues all over Manhattan, including Birdland Jazz Club, 54 Below, the Metropolitan Room, Ars Nova, Stage 72, the Alvin Ailey Theatre, and Joe's Pub. Laura Osnes is currently starring in Rodgers & Hammerstein's Carousel at the Lyric Opera of Chicago opposite Steven Pasquale under the direction of Rob Ashford. Osnes was most recently seen on Broadway as the title role in Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella (Drama Desk Award; Tony, Outer Critics Circle, and Drama League Award nominations). Osnes also starred in Bonnie and Clyde (Tony Award nomination), creating the role at Asolo Repertory Theatre and La Jolla Playhouse (San Diego Theatre Critics Circle Award). She appeared as Hope Harcourt in the Tony-winning revival of Anything Goes (Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Astaire Award nominations), Nellie Forbush in Lincoln Center's production of South Pacific, and her Broadway debut as Sandy in the most recent revival of Grease. In addition to being heard on several cast recordings, Laura has two solo albums, Dream A Little Dream: Live at The Cafe Carlyle and If I Tell You: The Songs of Maury Yeston. There is a $30-$50 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.
