2014 Bistro Award winning Vickie Phillips returns to DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Wednesday, January 28th at 7:00 pm. Musical director is Gerry Dieffenbach, a singer, songwriter, pianist and musical director. He has twice received the Songwriters Guild of America President's Award, the Back Stage Bistro Award for Outstanding Musical Director, the Critics Choice Award for Outstanding Album of the Year for his CD of original songs, Well Informed. He has musical directed and accompanied numerous performers including Shauna Hicks, Georga Osborne, Christine Pedi, Darius de Haas, Karen Mason, Donny Osmond, Joely Fisher, Clint Holmes, Margaret Whiting, Petula Clark, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, and Joan Rivers. According to Vickie Phillips, music is what feelings feel like. In her show,•MANY of the songs have been written by "friends" - actual friends like Sheldon Harnick and Gerry Dieffenbach, her musical director; others who have become like friends because of their music like Lieber and Stoller, Peter Allen, Craig Carnelia, Cryer and Ford, Maltby and Shire, Eric Blau, and Bob Ost; and she makes each song she sings her personal friend. This concert honors friends, to whom she will ever be musically grateful.
