NYC: ERIC COMSTOCK & BARBARA FASANO "ON THE SUNNY SIDE"

Married musical partners Eric & Barbara will perform at BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) on Sunday, August 17th at 6:00 pm. They are joined by Special Guest Warren Vache. The pair are as entertaining as they are musically savvy. These award-winning artists celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary later this summer, so expect lots of laughs and love songs. Sultry, swinging and surprising, they'll turn Sunday supper at Birdland into a fabulous party where the stories are as great as the music. The multiple MAC, Bistro and New York Nightlife Award winners are regular performers at New York's most prestigious clubs and concert halls. They were among the last performers to headline at the Algonquin Hotel's legendary Oak Room Supper Club. There is a $30 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.

NYC: ARTURO O'FARRILL AFRO LATIN JAZZ ORCHESTRA SUNDAYS

Grammy Award winning pianist, composer and educator Arturo O'Farrill brings his Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra to BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) on Sundays at 9:00 & 11:00pm. Called the leader of the "first family of Afro-Cuban Jazz", O'Farrill was born in Mexico and grew up in New York City. Son of the late, great composer Chico O'Farrill, Arturo was Educated at Manhattan School of Music, Brooklyn College Conservatory and the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College. He played piano in Carla Bley's Big Band from 1979 through 1983 and earned a reputation as a soloist in groups led by Dizzy Gillespie, Steve Turre, Freddy Cole, Lester Bowie, Wynton Marsalis and Harry Belafonte. The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra is the resident large format ensemble of the nonprofit Afro Latin Jazz Alliance (ALJA) founded by Arturo O'Farrill in 2007 and dedicated to preserving the music and heritage of big band Latin jazz, supporting its performance for new audiences, and educating young people in the understanding and performance of this important cultural treasure. There is a $30 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.

NYC: EARL KLUGH AT THE BLUE NOTE

GRAMMY Award-winning guitar virtuoso Earl Klugh will appear at THE BLUE NOTE(131 West 3rd Street, NYC - 212-475-8592) on Tuesday through Sunday, August 12th through 17th with shows at 8:00 & 10:30 pm. Since Klugh released his inaugural album in 1976, the Detroit-born master of the acoustic-classical guitar has become one of the most imitated icons of the instrument, issued dozens of discs, 23 of which have been on Billboard's top-10 list of jazz albums and 5 that made it to the No. 1 slot. During that time, Klugh's recordings also received 12 GRAMMY nominations (the latest of which was for his 2008 CD The Spice of Life) - and his collaboration with pianist Bob James, One on One, walked away with the 1980 GRAMMY Award for Best Pop Instrumental Album. There is a $20-$35 cover.

NYC: UNFORGETTABLE DINAH: DENISE PERRIER QUINTET FEATURING HOUSTON PERSON

San Francisco treasure Denise Perrier, known as "the voice with a heart," brings her show 'Unforgettable Dinah' celebrating Dinah Washington atDIZZY'S CLUB AT JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER (33 West 60th Street, NYC - 212-258-9595) on Friday through Sunday, August 15th through 17th with shows at 7:30 & 9:30 pm. Denise is making her Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola debut. From the repertoire to the signature tiara and furs, the vivacious Perrier brings Dinah Washington - "the Queen" - back to life. Performing Washington's greatest hits, from "I Wanna Be Loved" to "Big Long Sliding Thing," Perrier has taken this critically-acclaimed show from the San Francisco Bay Area to venues around the country. These sets will demonstrate why Washington is considered the most popular - and perhaps one of the most controversial - black female recording artists of the 1950s. There is a $35-$45 cover.
