NYC: BROADWAY SINGS AT THE WEST END - THURSDAYS
A New Open mic night has begun hosted by Sarah Rice & Craig Pomranz on the Upper West Side! BROADWAY SINGS AT THE WEST END will be held every Thursday night (it started on May 1st) at THE WEST END (955 West End Avenue, NYC - 212-531-4759) from 9:00 to 11:00 pm (signup after 8:30 pm). Matthew Martin Ward will be at the piano. An open mic with multi-award winning hosts Sarah and Craig bring the ultimate New York experience to the Upper West Side with all kinds of talent singing all genres of music -Broadway, Pop, Jazz, Classical, all are welcomed. There will be a drawing at the end of the evening to get to sing another song and get a free cover for the following week. There will also be a group sing of the Tonight Quintette from West Side Story. There is a $7 cover - no minimum.

NYC's original, award-winning improvised musical comedy awards show is back in NYC for 5 shows only. Broadway's Next H!T Musical: 2014 Phony Awards will be presented atSTAGE 72 (158 West 72nd Street, NYC - 212-362-2590) on Thursdays at 7:00 pm, May 29th, and June 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th. Every song is fresh. Every scene is new. Every night is different. It's all improvised and it's all funny. The hilarious Broadway's Next H!T Musical is the only unscripted theatrical awards show. Master improvisers gather made up, hit song suggestions from the audience and create a spontaneous evening of music, humor, and laughter. The audience votes for its favorite song and watches as the cast turns it into a full-blown improvised musical - complete with memorable characters, witty dialogue, and plot twists galore. Popular gay comic Adam Sank moves into THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Thursday, June 19th ans Friday, June 27th at 7:00 pm to perform his first-ever cabaret show, complete with music, comedy and humiliating stories of childhood. He is joined by special guest Erika Amato, acclaimed singer-actress. The show is directed by Maria Gentile with Musical Direction by Michael Isaacs. There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: THE VAUDEVILLIANS AT THE BEECHMAN
The Vaudevillians, last year's smash hit returns to New York at to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) for a limited run, Sunday, June 15th through Sunday, June 22nd at 7:00 pm (no show on Tuesday, June 17th). The Vaudevillians stars RuPaul's Drag Race sensation Jinkx Monsoon as "Kitty Witless" and accredited composer and musician Major Scales as Dr.Dan Von Dandy. The show has been retooled and contains some songs and material never performed in New York before! Throughout the 1920's Kitty Witless and Dr. Dan Von Dandy toured speakeasies and burlesque theaters through the United States as THE VAUDEVILLIANS, wowing audiences with their edgy, original music. Unfortunately, one day, tragedy struck. While touring through Antarctica, they were victims of a devastating avalanche and were buried under two tons of sleet and snow - instantly freezing them alive. But thanks to Global Warming, they recently thawed out only to discover that pop artists of various decades had stolen their music and passed it off as their own. Much to their shock and chagrin. Now, at long last, they are taking to the stage to reclaim their songs, performing their music as originally composed. Call for cover/minimum information.

Fresh from her iconic portrayal of Sue Sylvester on Glee and her Broadway debut in Annie, Jane will now provide audiences at 54 Below with four unforgettable June nights. Jane began her theatrical career and developed her comic skills at The Second City, Steppenwolf Theatre and in many church basements all over the greater Chicago-land area. After packing 54 BELOW to the rafters in November, multi-award-winning singer, actress & dancer Vivian Reed presents her passionate and powerful vocal stylings in unique arrangements of an eclectic lineup of R&B, jazz, gospel and musical theater songs at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Thursday, June 19th at 9:30 pm. Through selections from her critically acclaimed Broadway performance in Bubbling Brown Sugar, as well as from Three Mo' Divas, her concerts and international nightclub appearances, the two-time Tony Award nominee - who is the recipient of a Drama Desk Award, a Theatre World Award and an Outer Critics Circle Award, among others - pays tribute to the people who have had a profound effect on her career. Merging today's downtown stars with tomorrow's Broadway stars, "Cool" celebrates creative culture by bringing to life a night reminiscent of the old Studio 54 era. Featuring La'fem Ladosha, Juliana Huxtable, Neil Haskell, Brian Charles Johnson, Jessica Hershberg, Lesley McKinnell, Rahel, Preston Boyd, Richard Kennedy, ANML, and the band VIOLENCE. GRAMMY Award-winning singer/songwriter Melissa Manchester will perform at THE CAFE CARLYLE(35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-744-1600) with her show You Gotta Love The Life on Tuesdays through Saturdays, June 10th through 21st at 8:45 pm, with a late show on Saturdays at 10:45 pm.
