NYC: BARRET IS BACK ON RESTAURANT ROW
Chris Barrett returns to LA RIVISTA RISTORANTE (313 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-366-4603) on Monday, May 19th, where he will be at the piano Mondays through Wednesdays. There are two shows nightly, a dinner show at 8:00 and a supper show at 10:00 pm. Chris Barrett's performances are in the tradition of the great late-night boites of a fondly remembered era, when the likes of Hugh Shannon, Bobby Short, and Buddy Barnes manned the keyboard. There is no cover charge.

Tinatin Japaridze & Timothy Graphenreed present Inside Matryoshka: The Musical atTHE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 - ) on Monday, June 16th at 9:30 pm. Inside "Matryoshka: The Musical" is an evening of exploring the friendship between a seasoned mentor and a young girl with a dream. One Russian. One American. They're not supposed to be able to work things out but Tinatin and Timothy not only work brilliantly together, they have written a musical about how a Russian nesting doll rebuilt an American dream. Timothy Graphenreed (Performer/Writer/Pianist) is best known for composing "The Tornado," and "Emerald City Ballet" in the Mega Broadway hit "The Wiz". This year he celebrates 40 years in show biz with 5 major Broadway shows under his belt. Tinatin Japaridze (Artist/Composer) is an acclaimed Georgian born vocalist, songwriter, author, journalist and radio personality. In 2009, her composition "Is It True" was the runner-up at the prestigious Eurovision Song Contest, hailed as the #1 Eurovision Song in the history of the contest, earning Tinatin her first pan-European hit. She subsequently signed a worldwide deal with Kobalt Publishing, one of the leading music publishers and home to Lionel Richie, Gwen Stefani and Kelly Clarkson. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: THE VAUDEVILLIANS AT THE BEECHMAN
The Vaudevillians, last year's smash hit returns to New York at to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) for a limited run, Sunday, June 15th through Sunday, June 22nd at 7:00 pm (no show on Tuesday, June 17th). The Vaudevillians stars RuPaul's Drag Race sensation Jinkx Monsoon as "Kitty Witless" and accredited composer and musician Major Scales as Dr.Dan Von Dandy. The show has been retooled and contains some songs and material never performed in New York before! Throughout the 1920's Kitty Witless and Dr. Dan Von Dandy toured speakeasies and burlesque theaters through the United States as THE VAUDEVILLIANS, wowing audiences with their edgy, original music. Unfortunately, one day, tragedy struck. While touring through Antarctica, they were victims of a devastating avalanche and were buried under two tons of sleet and snow - instantly freezing them alive. But thanks to Global Warming, they recently thawed out only to discover that pop artists of various decades had stolen their music and passed it off as their own. Much to their shock and chagrin. Now, at long last, they are taking to the stage to reclaim their songs, performing their music as originally composed. Call for cover/minimum information.
NYC: BRIGHT LIGHTS, BIG CITY IN CONCERT
An all-star concert version of Paul Scott Goodman's rock musical Bright Lights, Big City, based on the novel by Jay McInerney will be presented at54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551 - ) on Monday, June 16th with performances at 7:00 & 9:30 pm. Bright Lights, Big City follows a week in the life of Jamie, a successful young writer who loses himself in the chaos of 1980s New York City. The concert will star Colin Donnell, Matt Doyle, original cast member AnnMarie Milazzo, Natalie Cortez, Renee Elise Goldsberry and Alice Ripley. The musical's original director, Michael Greif, will be at the helm. This will be the first NYC performance of Bright Lights, Big City since 2002. The musical was originally produced at New York Theatre Workshop in 1999. There is a $40-$50 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
NYC: EMILY KRON: CANVAS AT 54 BELOW
Emily Kron: Canvas will be presented at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551 - ) on Monday, June 16th at 11:30 pm as part of the club's Late Night series. The show features a host of beautifully talented vocalists and musicians performing an array of styles harking back to 90s female pop angst, sultry female jazz vocals, classical musical theater songs reinvented, and much more! Additional performances by Peter Albrink, Casey Donahue, Ming Aldrich Gan, Justin Graves, Charlie Hely, Catherine McCarthy, Karel Ruzicka and more. Emily Kron has been singing since she was a wee little thing. Trained classically by the legendary Marni Nixon, Emily fell in love with an array of musical styles right away and began collecting inspiration from the infinite well of artists in her grasp. She has performed in theater and musical theater performances all over the city, at venues such as The Cherry Lane, LaMaMa, NYTW, Ars Nova and at several top-teir regional theaters in the country. She has also performed in live concert and cabaret acts at Ars Nova, The Highline Ballroom the Metropolitan Room, the Red Lion, and BB King! Emily Kron: Canvas is the artistic love child of Emily Kron and Claire Graves. Emily and Claire established their collaborative kinship at Middlebury College, while working on their senior acting thesis, where they discovered a deep creative bond. There is a $10 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.
NYC: DINE & DANCE WITH VINCE GIORDANO AND THE NIGHTHAWKS - NOW AT THE IGUANA
Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks are back - and now will play every Monday & Tuesday night from 8:00 to 11:00 pm at at IGUANA'S VIP LOUNGE (240 West 54th Street, NYC - 212-765-5454). Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks is an eleven-piece band playing music of the 1920s & 30s for your dining and dancing pleasure. In 1976 Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks (originally known as the New Orleans Nighthawks) was formed. A big-band historian and collector, Giordano has more than 60,000 scores in his collection.
