NYC: DEBORAH DAVIS & A FEW GOOD MEN JAZZ BENEFIT CONCERT

NYC: DEBORAH DAVIS & A FEW GOOD MEN JAZZ BENEFIT CONCERT
FEATURED CABARET BENEFIT EVENT

Jazz vocalist Deborah Davis returns to THE BLUE NOTE (131 West 3rd Street, NYC - 212-475-8592) stage in her 16th annual Benefit Concert for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The proceeds from this evening's performance will be donated to the Society for blood-related cancer research and patient services. Davis is a gifted singer and consummate performer that has captivated audiences throughout the world. A jazz singer fused with the gospel, Texas Blues, a whole lot of soul, a natural flowing charm, and flawless stage presence, Deborah Davis draws you into her show. A native of Dallas Texas, Deborah began singing as soon as she could speak. Her first inspiration towards a jazz career was when her high school choir director, jazz pianist Robert Sanders added her to his weekend gigs. Her musical development brought her to NYC in 1986, where she has carved out a niche for herself on the U.S. East Coast and International jazz scenes. Always striving to be a well rounded person, Deborah ran a 26.2 mile fundraising marathon for the LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA SOCIETY in Dublin Ireland '98. After doing so she decided singing for the cause was a better idea. This is the 16th Annual jazz benefit concert for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society held annually here at the Blue Note, the first Monday of each year. When she's not on stage Deborah enjoys Making Jewelry Sewing, Abstract Art, Poetry, Vegetarian Cooking, Bikram Yoga, Tai Chi and working out. Deborah also collects any thing relating to MONKEYS. There is a $15-$25 cover.
