CABARET TONIGHT IN NYC: LAUREN KINHAN "CIRCLE IN A SQUARE" CD RELEASE CELEBRATION
Jazz vocalist Lauren Kinhan will celebrate the release of her new CD "Circle in a Square" at BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) on Tuesday, January 7th with shows at 8:30 & 11:00 pm. She will be joined on stage by Andy Ezrin (piano), David Finck (bass), Ben Wittman (drums) and Donny McCaslin (sax) plus special guests. Vocalist and Composer Lauren Kinhan has been creating genre-merging music for years as evidenced on her CD's, Avalon (E One 2010) and Hardly Blinking (2000) and her contributions to New York Voices' many recordings. Her musical ideas shake up the traditional confines of jazz, pop and everything in between and offer instead, the listener an experience led by an accomplished creative and curious mind. Her training in jazz and deep connection to soul music has developed a voice that is expressive and fearless while her love of prose keep her dreaming of ways to lead her listeners on different adventures.
