NYC: KAT GANG AT THE MET

An up-and-coming star among the current, talented waive of contemporary singer/ songwriters, Kat Gang will appear at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Tuesday, November 4th at 7:00 pm. Kat delivers her unique brand of jazz- influenced music with a flair that constantly has her ever increasing audience calling for more. From her unique take on traditional jazz standards to her soulful interpretations of the music of Joni Mitchell, Rickie Lee Jones and even the Arctic Monkeys, this Boston-born vocalist has long been winning diverse audience appreciation in theatres, jazz clubs, restaurants and reviews. One of Kat's greatest gifts as a singer is her musical versatility; she draws on years of experience from across a broad range of specialties, enhancing her current project with innovation and expertise. Whether singing madrigals, the great American songbook, jazz or pop, Kat distinguishes each song with her vibrant voice and huge heart. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: JAZZ LEGEND ANNIE ROSS TUESDAYS THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

Jazz legend Annie Ross continues her unprecedented, record-breaking, multi-year run at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440), every Tuesday night at 9:30 pm. Ms. Ross has been an abundant contributor to the art of jazz for over 50 years. Born in the UK, she has been a permanent resident of the USA for many years and a US citizen since 2001. Annie Ross is one of the pioneers of vocalese and the composer of "Twisted", one of the most well known examples of that art, as well as "Farmers Market", "Jackie" and many others. A founding member of Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, considered the greatest jazz vocal ensemble of all time, her influence is present in all subsequent practitioners of vocalese. "Twisted" has been recorded by a host of vocalists, including some not normally associated with jazz, including Joni Mitchell and Bette Midler. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: STIFF UPPER LIP: SONGS OF THE BRITS - ZACHARY WOBENSMITH

Zach Wobensmith makes his solo New York cabaret debut at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Tuesday, November 5th at 7:00 pm In his show, Wobensmith examines the legendary fortitude of the British throughout the depression and second World War via the works of Ivor Novello and Noel Coward. Musical direction is by Matthew Martin Ward. There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: DINE & DANCE WITH VINCE GIORDANO AND THE NIGHTHAWKS - NOW AT THE IGUANA

Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks are back - and now will play every Monday & Tuesday night from 8:00 to 11:00 pm at at IGUANA'S VIP LOUNGE (240 West 54th Street, NYC - 212-765-5454). Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks is an eleven-piece band playing music of the 1920s & 30s for your dining and dancing pleasure. In 1976 Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks (originally known as the New Orleans Nighthawks) was formed. A big-band historian and collector, Giordano has more than 60,000 scores in his collection. There is a $15 cover (at the door) plus a $15 food drink minimum.

NYC: JOAN RIVERS: LIVE IN TIMES SQUARE!

Comedy legend Joan Rivers returns with her her live stand-up act to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Tuesday, November 5th at 7:30 pm. Rivers presents an evening of her newest and most outrageous riffs on Hollywood, pop culture, celebrities, reality TV and award show fashions. Rivers delivers a raunchy, politically incorrect evening of stand-up comedy. A full dinner menu and bar are available, and pianist Will Hall plays from the time doors open until Joan takes the stage. Net proceeds going to Joan Rivers' favorite charities: God's Love We Deliver and Guide Dogs for the Blind. A full dinner menu and bar are available. NYC: PAULO SZOT RETURNS TO 54 BELOW

The Tony-winning star of South Pacific, Paul Szot, returns to headline at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) for a week-long engagement. Performances are Tuesday & Wednesday, November 5th at 7:00 pm & Wednesday, November 6th at 9:30 pm. Then he returns on Thursday, November 14th at 7:00 pm and Friday & Saturday, November 15th & 16th at 8:00 pm. In this brand new show, the Brazilian opera star presents a program of cherished classics from the American Songbook, as well as Brazilian and jazz favorites. Paulo is one of the most versatile and extraordinary singers to be heard today. Directed by Joe Langworth. Musical Director is Matthew Aucoin. There is a $45-$55-$65 cover (depending on date) plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: JOANNA GLEASON MAKES NYC CABARET DEBUT AT 54 BELOW

Tony Award winner Joanna Gleason makes her NYC cabaret debut at 54 BELOW(254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Wednesday, November 5th at 9:00 pm. Accompanied by Well Strung, the dazzling modern-day string quartet, her fantasy and real lives intersect underscored by tunes ranging from Billy Joel to Dave Frishberg to Johnny Mathis, with maybe even a little walk through the woods. Revered by Broadway audiences for her unforgettable (& award-winning) portrayal of The Baker's Wife in the original company of Into the Woods, New York has also embraced Joanna in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Nick and Nora and Sons of The Prophet among others, racking up all of the major theatre awards along the way. This is to say nothing of her film and TV work, which includes Boogie Nights, Crimes & Misdemeanors, The Wedding Planner, the upcoming Last Vegas and a whole host of other projects. NYC: LATE NIGHT: BACKSTAGE, HOSTED BY SUSIE MOSHER

54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) presents BACKSTAGE, Broadway's Tuesday night cocktail party/songfest, hosted by Susie Mosher at 10:30 pm. Musical Director Brad Simmons keeps the house jumping from the piano, while host Mosher guides the crowd through an evening of music, mayhem and full throttle belting. Special guests from hit Broadway shows drop in to perform. Members of the "Backstage repertory company", featuring some of New York's most exciting musical theatre talent, are on hand each week to sing everything from Schwartz to Sondheim. Special guest stars on November 5thn are Alice Ripley (Tony winner, Next to Normal), Natalie Weiss (Everyday Rapture, Les Miserables), Carner and Gregor (winners of the Richard Rodgers Award for musical theater), David Perlman (Baby It's You, Anna Nicole), and Leenya Rideout (War Horse, Company, Cabaret).
