CHICAGO: SCOTT GRYDER'S SIMPLY SCOTTY AT CLUB 3160
Scott Gryder's monthlySIMPLY SCOTTY! show at CLUB 3160 (3160 North Clark Street, Chicago, IL - 773-327-5969) will be presented on Sunday, November 3rd from 7:00 to 10:00 pm. Scott will once again entertain from his self-compiled songbook of zany, heartfelt music! It's his birthday month, so expect even more madcap musical adventures than usual! ... and quite possibly, more cake. He is accompanied by the incomparable Nick Sula on piano, and joined at the mic by guest singers Freddie The Puppet, Laven Deer and the legendary operatic pachyderm Placebo Dominguez. Guest singers welcome. No cover charge - just a 2-drink minimum.
LOS ANGELES: KRITZERLAND: THE SONGS OF THE SHERMAN BROTHERS
Kritzerland Upstairs at Sterling's presents "SUPERCALI FRAGILISTIC EXPIALIDOCIOUS - The Songs of the Sherman Brothers" on Sunday, November 3rd at 7:00 pm atSTERLING'S AT THE FEDERAL(5303 Lankershim Boulevard, North Hollywood, CA - 818-754-8700). As always, the cast includes some of the best voices in town, including Brent Barrett, Kim Huber, Damon Kirsche, Jane Noseworthy, Jenna Lea Rosen, Sami Staitman and special guests Susan Egan and Richard Sherman. Music Director is Tom Griep. The 39th Kritzerland show is the first ever encore show. There was a 'Sherman Brothers evening' in the first six months of shows and it was the first sellout so they thought it was high time to bring back the glorious songs of the Sherman Brothers - Richard M. and Robert B. - the men repsonsible for making some of the most beloved, well known and iconic songs ever written, from pop to film to stage. The award-winning songwriting brothers' songs have been delighting entire generations since the 1950s, and whether you were around then and discovering their songs when they were new, or if you were born in any subsequent decade, the Sherman Brothers songs were most assuredly part of your life. Cover charge is $28 with includes a $10 food/drink allowance. Reservations required.
