MORE CABARET TONIGHT IN NEW YORK CITY - IRIS WILLIAMS, REV. YOLANDE, ROBIN DE JESUS, ROBIN KRADLES

NYC: IRIS WILLIAMS: A ROMANTIC MUSICAL JOURNEY

Take a romantic musical journey this evening with Iris Williams at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 - ) on Sunday, October 20th at 9:30 pm as she sings classics from Jerome Kern, Nat King Cole, Rogers and Hart, Duke Ellington, Ray Noble and others. Musical Director is Art Weiss. Ms Williams, born in Wales, had her first big success with her recording of "He Was Beautiful" (the theme from the film The Deer Hunter). The recording went gold and there followed 14 Royal Performances in addition to performances in countries around the world. In America, Iris has performed critically acclaimed engagements at the Oak Room in the Algonquin Hotel in NY, the LA Music Center, the Smithsonian, Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel the London Palladium and Royal Albert Hall, to name a few. In 2004, H.M the Queen Elizabeth II awarded Ms.Williams the title Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), for her contributions to music and services to charitable causes. Iris is also a Fellow of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: REV. YOLANDA'S OLD TIME GOSPEL HOUR AT THE DUPLEX

A delightful, feel good, gender bending celebration of old fashioned gospel and country gospel music, plus original music by Rev. Yolanda written in the old fashion style, will be presented at THEDUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Sunday, October 20th at 4:00 pm. This show takes a musical tour of Rev. Yolanda's transformational spiritual journey from a gospel music loving Alabama gay boy, to a Radical Faerie, Rock & Roll, GLBT Hall of Fame Transgender Warrior, to a New Thought Interspiritual Drag Queen Reverend. Directed by Rev. Shawn Moninger, the show features Rev. Roger Anthony Yolanda Mapes on vocals and acoustic guitar; Kenneth Gartman, Musical Director/Arrangements, piano, vocals. Special guests TBA. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: TWO-TIME TONY AWARD-NOMINEE ROBIN DE JESUS WITH PATTI ISSUES

"PATTI ISSUES", the hit solo play written by Ben Rimalower, will continue its hit New York run with Sunday night performances at 9:30 pm at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) from September 8th to October 27th, starring Broadway's Robin De Jesus, star of the film Camp and two-time Tony Award nominee for In the Heights and La Cage Aux Folles (also soon to be starring opposite Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Goldblum in Lincoln Center Theater's Domesticated, opening November 4th.) The piece celebrated its year anniversary at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE and ran through Thursday, August 15th with Rimalower performing. Written by Ben Rimalower and Directed by Aaron Mark. Meantime, Ben will perform "PATTI ISSUES" in Boston, Glasgow, and Berlin in August and September, plus an upcoming South Florida "mini-tour". Ben recently presented the show in Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Berkeley, Provincetown, the Fire Island Pines and Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in Watertown, CT. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: ICONS: A TRIBUTE WITH ROBIN KRADLES

New York drag personality, Robin Kradles, makes her solo cabaret debut at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Sunday, October 20th at 4:00 pm. Her show is a tribute to the women who have influenced her glamorous style. Songs by or about Marlene Dietrich, Marilyn Monroe, Shirley Bassey, Ann-Margaret, Madonna, Pink and more populate this entertaining show. Directed by Lennie Watts with Musical Direction by Rick Jensen. Special guest performer at each show. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
