CABARET TONIGHT IN NYC: RALPH PETERSON AND THE UNITY PROJECT
Keystone Korner Nights / Todd Barkan present Ralph Peterson and The Unity Project at IRIDIUM JAZZ CLUB (1650 Broadway, NYC - 212-582-2121) on Wednesday, August 13th with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Also appearing are Don Braden, Josh Evans and introducing Jake Sherman. The show is a CD Release Party for ALIVE @ The Firehouse - Vol 1: The Unity Project. Ralph Peterson is ALIVE and swinging deeply on his 17th release as a leader and 3rd on his own Onyx Productions Music Label. His latest CD, ALIVE at Firehouse 12, recorded in New Heaven Ct. at the fire-station turned jazz-club, captures the boundless energy and fire of his Unity Project. In this version of the band Peterson brings in veteran and 20-year friend Craig Handy on tenor and soprano sax along with Josh Evans on trumpet. Staying true to the Messenger spirit, Peterson also unleashes yet another dynamic young talent in the person of Jake Sherman on Hammond organ. There is a $25 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.
