Uptown Vocal Jazz Quartet (UVJQ) will perform at BLUES ALLEY (1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC - 202-337-4141) on Friday through Sunday, August 16th through 18th with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. The Quartet puts its sublime signature on an engaging but rarely heard vocal jazz genre and breathes new life into the tradition of the great harmonizing vocal groups with its new cool: a repertoire of swinging, tightly harmonized originals and a sound that is quickly becoming a vocalese classic.
