NYC: MARIANNE SOLIVAN WITH A "A JAZZ HOLIDAY"
Vocalist Marianne Solivan will be singing and swinging in the holiday season with her show "Jazz Holiday" at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Friday, December 21st at 9:30 pm. The infallible swing of Ella, the daring of Betty Carter, the matter-of factness of Carmen McCrae ... They can all be found in the voice of Marianne Solivan. Armed with degrees from Berklee College of Music and a Master's degree from the New England Conservatory, Marianne possesses a voice that can be tender and sweet while still being strong and passionate. She is able to capture the audience with her honest storytelling and breathes new life into standards that are well worn. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
