NYC: JOHN COONS IN "SIX MONTHS FOR SIX WEEKS" MAKES NYC DEBUT
Fresh from performances in Seattle, Boston, and a successful run at PortFringe 2012, one man show "Six Months for Six Weeks" makes its NYC debut at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Sunday, November 18th at 9:00 pm. "Six Months" is the brainchild of Seattle based singer-songwriter John Coons. A semi-autobiographical one-man show built around original songs, it is an honest, funny, and heart-breaking new piece of queer theater. "Six Months" tells the story of two twenty-something men in Portland, Maine, their six-week "relationship with an expiration date" and its aftermath, set against 2009's "Question 1" same-sex marriage debate. Alternatively tender and satirical, it looks at the definitions and value we place on relationships in our changing world. Originally from Corinna, Maine, John Coons is forging a genre-defying career including performances with popular artist Ben Folds and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Symphony POPS, the Dresden Dolls' Amanda Palmer, and Foreigner. There is a $12 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
