NYC: SINGER/SONGWRITER RICK JENSEN IN A REVUE OF HIS SONGS

NYC: SINGER/SONGWRITER RICK JENSEN IN A REVUE OF HIS SONGS

Multiple MAC, BISTRO and GLAMA Award-winning songwriter Rick Jensen returns to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 - ) for two performances of his revue "Tonight, New York City," on Wednesdays, October 24th and November 7th at 7:00 pm. The show is inspired by Jensen's recent song of the same title, and looks back on Jensen's 27 years as a working musician in Manhattan. Joining him will be vocalists Tanya Holt, Justin Ritchie and this year's Metro star winner, Marissa Mulder. The show is directed by Lina Koutrakos. Jensen's song "Go Ahead And Dream" was featured in the 2011 Ed Harris film, "That's What I Am", which was the centerpiece of the 2011 Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Other Jensen compositions that have become standards in the cabaret and nightclub scene in New York and coast to coast include "In Passing Years" and "Amanda Sang". Artists who have recorded Jensen's songs include Lee Lessack, Lina Koutrakos, and the late Nancy LaMott, and Jensen can be heard singing his own songs on his award-winning CD, "Spring Harvest". In New York, Jensen has headlined in venues as diverse as the legendary Duplex cabaret, Town Hall, Symphony Space and Carnegie Hall. Other solo appearances include Washington DC's Source Theatre, and The Roslyn Spectrum Theatre in Arlington, VA. Beyond his solo work he is frequently found accompanying, arranging, and producing for a number of musical theatre and cabaret luminaries including Jason Graae, Liz Callaway, Barbara Fasano, Jeanne MacDonald, and Tovah Feldshuh. His work with Feldshuh culminated in an appearance at London's famed Savoy Theatre where they raised over eight million dollars for charity. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
