NYC: LAUREN FOX PREMIERES "CANYON FOLKIES" AT THE MET
Lauren Fox continues to explore the music of the '60s and '70s in her new show, "Canyon Folkies," premiering at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Friday, October 26th at 9:30 pm; and Friday, November 2nd at 7:00 pm. She is joined on stage by musical director Jon Weber on piano, Peter Calo on guitar and Ritt Henn on bass. In "Canyon Folkies" Fox explores what could arguably be called the epicenter '60s folk rock exploration and innovation - the bucolic hills of Laurel Canyon., a commune-like enclave above the Sunset Strip, which drew the likes Jackson Browne, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, The Byrds, The Mamas & the Papas, The Eagles, and Crosby, Stills & Nash, became a veritable folk-rock sonic factory. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
