TODAY IN NYC: LENY ANDRADE: BOSSA, BOLEROS & JAZZ AT BIRDLAND THROUGH SATURDAY
Leny Andrade, the "Queen of the Bossa Nova" travels from her native Rio De Janiero to BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080), Tuesday through Saturday, August 31st through September 4th, with shows at 8:30 & 11:00 pm. She will celebrate the release of her newest CD Alma Mia, a collection of unforgettable boleros, tangos and Latin jazz standards - a look back to the five years she spent in Mexico. Ms. Andrade will be joined by Klaus Meuller (piano), Sergio Brandao (bass) and Helio Schiavo (drums). The event is produced by Pat Philips & Ettore Stratta.
