CD NEWS: IT MIGHT BE AUGUST, BUT CHRISTMAS IS COMING SOON
Suzanne Carrico, winner of the 2008 MAC Award for Best Female Debut for THE ART OF THE CAHN, Music from the Sammy Cahn Songbook, has taken off part of this past year to record & produce WHAT CHRISTMAS-TIME MEANS TO ME, her first holiday CD. She will be joined by The Don Rebic Quartet, Dan Gross on percussion, Jim DiMatteo on bass & Windham Hill recording artist, Sean Harkness on guitar. On the CD are tunes ranging from the popular ("Silver Bells," Stephen Schwartz's "Day by Day," "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm" by Irving Berlin & "Baby It's Cold Outside/Let It Snow" by the wonderful Frank Loesser, Jule Styne & Sammy Cahn featuring Booth Daniels) to the spiritual ("What Child is This," "Little Drummer Boy," "Do You Hear What I Hear" & "Gesu Bambino") to an original tune by Musical Director Don Rebic, "Merry Christmas to Us All." Ms. Carrico & Mr. Rebic will be performing an all new show directed by Booth Daniels and featuring Christmas Music from the CD at The Metropolitan Room for 6 dates in December, including 2 special matinees for children! Additional dates in other cities to be announced.
SPECIAL NOTE FROM SUZANNE:
Dear Friends,
I'm thrilled to tell you that our Kickstarter campaign has been a success! We have raised over $5,000 towards the finishing process of my debut CD with The Don Rebic Quartet: WHAT CHRISTMAS TIME MEANS TO ME. It's very gratifying to know that after taking more than a year away from the clubs to work on this project that I still have your support and that there is so much interest in our album. It's not too late to be part of the process, we have 1 day left to raise funds, and the more we raise that more we will be able to spend on PR, travel & other expenses associated with promoting the album. We're going to be busy baking cookies & sending out our fabulous rewards to thank our fabulous backers!
