NYC: Marlene VerPlanck at THE KITANO
Jazz vocalist Marlene VerPlanck will appear at THE KITANO HOTEL (66 Park Avenue, NYC - 212-885-7119) on Wednesday, June 2nd, with sets at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. She will be joined by Tomoko Ohno, piano; Steve LaSpina, bass; and Rich DeRosa, drums. Marlene spent many years as a first call 'back up' singer to everyone from Sinatra to Kiss, and the voice of hundreds of national commercials, including, MMM Good, (Campbell's Soup), Weekends Were Made for Michelob, Salem Cigarettes, Winston Cigarettes and many, many others. She recently completed a one month tour of Holland and England, then California and back to NY. She has also was selected to headline The Johnny Mercer Centennial, in November at the Johnny Mercer Auditorium, in Savannah, GA. There is no cover charge, just a $15 minimum.
