NYC: NATALIE DOUGLAS "TO LENA: A TRIBUTE" AT BIRDLAND
Critically acclaimed, seven-time MAC Award, including 2008 Major Jazz Artist, and 2008 Nightlife Award-Winner, Natalie Douglas returns to her perch at the legendaryBIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) with her hit show, "To Lena ... a Tribute to the Lady And Her Music" on Monday. May 17th at 7:00 pm, Natalie welcomes her fans old & new to this celebration of the life & songs of the incomparable Lena Horne. For almost seventy years this lovely & sophisticated lady graced the world stage with her poise, dignity, humor, talent, brains and trailblazing style. Natalie, with her longtime musical director and arranger Mark Hartman and her band of Broadway All-Stars, will revisit the eras, the milestones, and the music in an evening of Arlen, Berlin, Porter & Strayhorn; featuring tunes like "As Long As I Live," "I Love to Love," "From This Moment On," "If You Believe" and of course, "Stormy Weather." There is a $25-$35 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.
