NYC: JULIE WILSON CANCELS TWO WEEK RUN AT METROPOLITAN ROOM
The legendary Julie Wilson has cancelled her return to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 - ) in a new show exploring and celebrating the time-honored subject of love originally scheduled to run Wednesday through Friday, May 5th through 7th, and Thursday through Saturday, May 13th through 15th, all shows at 7:30 pm due to health issues. Her show was planned to give Julie's own unique perspective - informed by her penetrating intelligence, devilish humor and the soulful wisdom of a long life well-lived - to every songwriter's favorite topic, presenting a potpourri of songs by Gershwin, Rodgers & Hart, Arlen, Kern, Sondheim, Coward, Francesca Blumenthal, Henry Nemo and others, ranging from the beloved to the barely-known, from powerful, dramatic theater pieces and great jazz torch songs to swing tunes, pop classics, contemporary standards and her trademark comic novelty songs, complete with feather boa. We all hope for a speedy recovery.
