Blues band Johnny & The Headhunters performs at BLUES ALLEY (1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC - 202-337-4141) on Tuesday, June 4th with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Three decades and thousands of shows performing live blues places Johnny and the Headhunters among the longest existing blues bands along the east coast. Having played and recorded with some of the artists that influenced them, Johnny and the headhunters are a American Original. Their music is a blend of Authentic blues, Roots Rock n roll, swing, funk and rockabilly. Blues and roots music is in Johnny's blood and having studied the art form first hand from Musicians such a Eddie Taylor, Memphis Slim, Big mama Thornton, Albert Collins, Big Moose Walker ( Earl Hookers Piano man), Jimmy Rogers, James Cotton, and front man with Johnny, Louisiana Red.
