PALM SPRINGS, CA TODAY: JEROME ELLIOTT COMES TO PALM DESERT'S NEWMAN THEATER
Cabaret singer and actor Jerome Elliott stars in a one-man musical concert entitled "My Favorite Springs" on Sunday, June 2nd at 2:00 pm as part of the Sundays In Summer Series presented by Les Michaels at THE ARTHUR NEWMAN THEATRE at the JOSLYN CENTER THEATRE (73-750 Catalina Way, Palm Desert, CA - TKTS: 760-325-2731). With music by various composers in several genres, Jerome selects much of his music based on the lyrics and how they represent his feelings and certain events in his life in addition to songs that relate to the overall theme of his shows. Over the last few years Jerome has written and performed six different shows, which he has performed locally as well as in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle. With the help of musical director and pianist Charlie Creasy, they have interwoven standards and some lessor known music from the Broadway stage, Hollywood movies, and The Great American Songbook, around patter and stories that go from funny to endearing and even thought provoking. Jerome is an alumnus of the International Cabaret Conference at Yale University and has been nominated a number of times for Desert Theater League Awards. He is also seen regularly in Palm Canyon Theater productions. There is a $10 cover.
