Robin's Nest - A Benefit For Helpusadopt.Org returns to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Monday, November 30th at 7:00 pm, hosted by Robin Westle. Featured performer is Broadway's Jessica Grove, known for originating the role of 'Dorothy' in the Madison Square Garden production of The Wizard of Oz, the Broadway productions of A Little Night Music, Sunday in the Park With George, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Les Miserables, and Encore Theatre's Into the Woods. Also featured are special guest stars Eric Michael Gillett, known for television (Mysteries of Laura, Law and Order) film (Maid in Manhattan, My Brother) and original Broadway companies of Sweet Smell of Success, The Frogs, and KissMe Kate (revival); and Melanie Vaughan, known for her prolific Broadway career including the original productions of Sunday in the Park with George, Starlight Express, Parade, and Ring of Fire; and featured entertainer KylieLiya Page. This will be an unforgettable night of song and story to benefit Helpusadopt.Org, a national non-profit 501(c)(3) financial assistance grant program providing qualified couples and individuals - regardless of race, ethnicity, marital status, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or disability - with grants of up to $15,000 towards their domestic, international, foster, or special needs adoption expenses.
Adoption is expensive. Statistics say that an averageadoption costs upwards of $30,000. The magnitude and uncertainty of these expenses is a significant obstaclestanding in the way of permanent homes for the more than 150 million children around the globe who need parents. Through the generous contributions of donors, Helpusadopt.Org is able to assist others in overcoming thefinancial obstacles they face when seeking to adopt. Helpusadopt.org's average grant is approximately $8,500 and since the organization's launch in 2007, Helpusadopt.Orghas helped to build more than 150 families by awarding over $1,300,000 in total adoption grants.
