In an exciting new collaboration between two giants of cabaret from both sides of the Atlantic, extraordinary, award-winning vocalist and performer Barb Jungr and Grammy and Emmy winner John McDaniel investigate The Beatles song catalogue in their own unique and inimitable fashion at ST. LONDON: LORNA LUFT - TRIUMPH!
Lorna Luft returns to THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Tuesdays through Saurdays, November 24th through December 5th at 8:00 pm with her brand new show TRIUMPH! Lorna has had starring roles in both television and film and has enjoyed numerous successes on the stage across the globe, including Broadway and the West End. She starred in the blockbuster UK premiere production of Irving Berlin's White Christmas: The Musical, reprised the same role on the first national tour, and at the Papermill Playhouse. Concurrent with her theatrical career, Lorna is a gifted live performer frequently featured as a concert artist at the world's most prestigious venues including The Hollywood Bowl, Madison Square Garden, Carnegie Hall, The London Palladium, and L'Olympia in Paris to name just a few. Her highly acclaimed multi-media production Songs My Mother Taught Me - The Judy Garland Songbook, melds one of the world's most familiar songbooks with personal memories of a loving daughter. Songs My Mother Taught Me was awarded two Los Angeles Theatre Alliance Ovation Awards (Best World Premiere Musical & Best Musical Direction). Musical Director is Colin R. Freeman. The Mississippi Swamp Dogs perform at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Friday, November 27th at 10:30 pm as part of the club's Late Night Series. New Orleans is home to some of the happiest, diverse and high energy music on the planet. The birthplace of 20th century music, The Crescent City continues to entertain and delight audiences on a nightly basis. The Mississippi Swamp Dogs take this wonderful mixture of styles and craft them into a show of infinite variety, energy and sheer joy. Using something of London's finest musicians, Jeff Williams, bandleader, transports you to a hot, sultry New Orleans bar where the air beats to the sound of Rhumba, Swing, Funk, Gospel, Cajun and dirty Blues! Since forming the band five years ago, Jeff Williams, trombonist and bandleader, has created a high energy show that has delighted audiences across London and around the country. Celebrating the rich musical heritage of New Orleans and the Deep South, the band offers an entertaining and eclectic mix of musical styles across the ages. A regular fixture at prestigious jazz venues across London, the band is just as at home performing to a theatre audience.
