CHICAGO: JOHN VAN KEULEN - "THE BARBRA SHOW"

John Van Keulen presents "The Barbra Show" at DAVENPORT'S(1383 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL - 773-278-1830) on Sunday, October 18th at 7:00 pm. Several years ago, award winning composer Marvin Hamlisch, suggested that John do a show about his fixation with all things Barbra Streisand. A month before he died, John and Marvin had dinner together. Over dinner, after what would also turn out to be his last performance at Ravinia, John revealed that he was going to take his advice and do "the Barbra show". He was glad I was listening to him and was convinced it was the show I should do. When he died the following month John just couldn't bring hiimself to put the show together. But now - after a couple of years - he has finally put together the show John hopes Marvin would be proud of. The show is not a conventional tribute show, rather a show about how Barbra has been such an important part of John's life for over 50 years•using only songs that have been recorded by her. He is joined by Dave Onderdonk on guitar, and Peggy Tortoriello on piano. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

PLEASE NOTE: Additiional Cabaret Events may be scheduled for this date in the MIDWEST area for which we did not receive complete / appropriate press releases. Check venue websites.
