HOTLINE MEMBER CABARET EVENT TONIGHT IN PALM SPRINGS, CA: DIRECT FROM LAS VEGAS, REBECCA SPENCER COMES TO PALM DESERT
Acclaimed singer Rebecca Spencer will perform songs from Broadway to The Great American Songbook with pianist Phillip Fortenberry at THE ARTHUR NEWMAN THEATRE at the JOSLYN CENTER (73-750 Catalina Way, Palm Desert, CA - TKTS: 760-325-2731) on Sunday, August 9th at 2:00 pm. "Rebecca Sings The Greats" is presented by Les Michaels Sundays In Summer Cabaret Series, which runs through October 25th with a different headliner each week. Rebecca Spencer's theatrical credits are quite extensive. Most recently, two years as Madame Giry in Phantom Of The Opera at Venetian Hotel, Las Vegas. Previous roles include Emma Carew in the original Broadway cast of Jekyll and Hyde, Ragtime in Toronto, tours in Candide, and as Dolly in Hello Dolly. Her solo shows and concerts with local symphony orchestras have taken Rebecca from Coast To Coast. She holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from Ithaca College and has two award-winning CD's: "Wide Awake and Dreaming" and "Fair Warning". Rebecca's accompanist for this show is Phillip Fortenberry who studied at Julliard and holds a Masters in Music Degree in classical piano from New Jersey City University. On Broadway, Phillip was the pianist for Forbidden Broadway, Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar, Saturday Night Fever, Ragtime, Seussical • The Musical, and The Lion King. There is an $11 cash cover available at the box office before the show.
