HOTLINE MEMBER CABARET EVENT TONIGHT IN CHICAGO, IL: "LADIES SING THE BLUES II: A BILLIE HOLIDAY CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION CONTINUED"
After sold out performances at Davenport's Piano Bar and Cabaret, and at The Skokie Theatre, "LADIES SING THE BLUES II: a Billie Holiday Centennial Celebration (con't)" returns to THE SKOKIE THEATRE (7924 Lincoln Avenue, Skokie, IL - 847-677-7761) on Thursday, August 13th at 7:30 pm. This special encore performance, produced by CCP (Chicago Cabaret Professionals) has been expanded into 2 acts, with some new songs and new faces. Music from Lady Day's Columbia, Commodore, Verve and Decca catalogue will be sung by an outstanding roster of Chicago jazz, blues and cabaret artists, including new cast members Elaine Dame and Jasondra Johnson, plus returning cast members Amy Armstrong, and Liz Mandeville (who did not appear last time in Skokie. Kimberly Gordon, Frieda Lee, Tecora Rogers, and Jeannie Tanner return and complete the cast. Musical direction by Johnny Rodgers with Eric Schneider on horns and Joe Policastro on bass. The show is directed by Daryl Nitz. New songs include "Ain't Misbehavin'," "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm," "Jeepers Creepers," "You're My Thrill," plus audience favorites "What a Little Moonlight Can Do," "A Fine Romance,! " "Easy Livin'," "Strange Fruit," "Body and Soul," "Don't Explain," "Good Morning, Heartache," "Yesterdays," "You Go to My Head," and Billie's signature song "God Bless the Child" are included plus many more. We have even added a couple duets. Over 20 songs will be featured. There is a $32 cover.
