NYC: AN EVENING WITH MICHELLE BUTEAU, MARINA FRANKLIN, AND VERONICA MOSEY

THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) presents An Evening with Michelle Buteau, Marina Franklin, and Veronica Mosey on Wednesday, February 18th at 7:00 pm. Born in New Jersey to Caribbean parents, comedian/host/performer Michelle Buteau brings a cheeky swagger, unique perspective and big personality to stage and screen. Michelle has been a staple at VH1 appearing on countless Best Week Ever, She also played the sassy sidekick on The Jenny McCarthy Show. As a comedian, Buteau has toured the country performing at colleges, clubs and comedy festivals. Her television stand-up appearances include the The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Lopez Tonight, Comedy Central and Last Comic Standing. New-York based Marina Franklin is emerging as one of the hottest comedians in the comedy scene today, with such notable appearances as, Wanda Syke's Herlarious, Showtime's Women Who Kill, Craig Ferguson's Late Late Show, The Jay Leno Show, Chappelle's Show, Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn, NBC's Last Comic Standing Season II, and Showtime at The Apollo. Franklin's career in entertainment wasn't always in stand-up comedy; originally from Chicago, she made her acting debut at the Illinois Rep Theatre. She then quickly realized her love for acting and went on to pursue a MFA in acting at Syracuse University. Franklin is viciously likeable, if there is such a thing. Veronica Mosey is a force to be reckoned with. Her strong opinions and fiery performances, have earned her regular stage time at the Comic Strip in New York City as well as appearances on The Dr. Phil Show and VH1. She has been seen in national commercials and her sarcastic wit has been published in Us Weekly magazine's Fashion Police segment. There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: NOW AND FOREVER - A LUTHER VANDROSS TRIBUTE

Now and Forever - A Luther Vandross Tribute will be presented at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM(34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Wednesday, February 15th at 7L99 pm, produced by Joseph Macchia as the next installment of his "Gone Too Soon" Series. Now and Forever is an evening saluting the songs and life of Luther Vandross. The evening will feature performances by Sean Bernardi, Nick Bernardi, Rob Langeder, Alicia Tomasko, Joanna Morton, Gary Jamie Hartmann, Harmony McGivney, Phillip Parker and more. Yasuhiko Fukuoka musical directs the evening. There is a $22.50 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: SAM AND MARGOT AT THE MET

The band Sam & Margot performs at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM(34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Wednesday, February 18th at 8:30 pm. The band is based on their based on a mutual appreciation for Conor Oberst, Brechtian Cabaret, fine dining, intense eye contact and aspirations for fame balanced with artistic integrity. The pair met at a villa in the mountains of Tuscany but did not begin singing with each other until returning to America. After Italy, Sam spent more time traveling in India, studying Tantrism under a guru and reading lots of postmodern novels. He returned 20 pounds lighter and with a batch of songs that were heartfelt and poignant. Margot felt connected to the material and they began singing and writing together. Sam & Margot began to book gigs and record some of their music and eventually caught the eye of one of their idols, Simone Felice (The Felice Brothers,) who offered to produce their songs. There is a $12 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: MARK NADLER RETURNS TO 54 BELOW

Mark Nadler, a New York City-based cabaret performer, actor and comedic pianist, returns to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Wwednesday, February 18th at 7:00 pm. Mr. Nadler has performed at Carnegie Hall with the New York Pops Orchestra Mark Nadlerand has been a soloist with the Baltimore Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, Oregon Symphony, National Arts Centre Symphony in Ottawa and others. At Philadelphia's 14,000 seat Mann Center for the Performing Arts, Mark did a solo two-act evening with the New York Pops, as well as Three Singular Sensations with Marvin Hamlisch and Martin Short. He starred in and co-wrote the off-Broadway Gershwin revue, American Rhapsody, which was nominated for a Drama Desk and two Lucille Lortel Awards and received the Manhattan Association of Cabarets (MAC) Award for Outstanding Musical Revue. Additionally, he received the MAC Award three years in a row for outstanding Musical Comedy Performer and additionally, Mark was given the MAC Award for his performance of five different interacting characters in his one man Opera in Honky-tonk, Red Light, co-written with Dawn Hampton. Mark has created and performs many one-man shows including Running Wild: Songs and Scandals of the Roaring 20's, Crazy 1961, They Can't Take That Away From Me: Music Of George Gershwin, Let's Misbehave: A Cole Porter Soiree, Mark Nadler In A Nutshell, and His Lovely Wife Ira: Ira Gershwin With and Without George for which Mark received the Bay Area Critics' Circle Award for Outstanding Solo Performance. For his show, Tschaikowsky (and Other Russians), which he performed in New York's Algonquin Hotel, Firebird Supper Club and San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater, as well as the Adelaide Cabaret Festival in Australia, Mark was awarded the 2003 Bistro Award for "Continuing To Raise The Standards Of Cabaret Performance." Tschaikowsky (and Other Russians) was reworked as a theatrical one man show called Russian on the Side, which played in Chicago and San Francisco, garnering Mark the Bay Area Critics' Circle Award for Outstanding One-Person show. He also won the Bistro Award for outstanding singer/instrumentalist and for Outstanding Revue for directing, conceiving and music directing Hard Candy: The Songs Of Carol Hall. There is a $35-$65 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: MIDNIGHT AT 9:30, FEATURING JOANNA GLEASON, AARON DAVID GLEASON & MORE

Joanna Gleason, Aaron David Gleason and others present "Midnight" at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Wednesday, February 18th at 9:30 pm. Nothing says cool like songs about Midnight, performed by artists who are known for their shadows as much as their light. This concert will feature songs of every genre, from Broadway to pop, all about that midnight muse. Expect a blitzkrieg of character actors, gorgeous voices, and Broadway stars. Featuring performances from: Joanna Gleason, Chris Sullivan, Lucas Papaelias, Brittain Ashford, Or Matias, Aaron David Gleason, Nikka Graff Lanzarone, Andromeda Turre, Daniel Ballen, David Ballen and more performers to be announced. There is a $25-$60 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
