NYC: BARB JUNGR: MAD ABOUT THE BOY AND NO REGRETS

Following her critically acclaimed show 'Hard Rain' at 59E59 THEATERS (59 East 59th Street, NYC - 212-279-4200) this fall, Britain's top song stylist and international cabaret singer Barb Jungr presents the American premiere of a special concert originally created for London Festival of Cabaret 2013, 'In Mad About the Boy and No Regrets', on Friday through Sunday, January 2nd through 4th at 7:00 pm at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551). The show will walk on the dark side of love and loss, sex and corruption of the soul as Barb sings Springsteen, Coward, Dylan, Weill, Cohen and more. Every performance is a roller coaster ride. Are you strong enough? In 2013 and 2014 Barb Jungr performed in the O'Neill Connecticut Celebration of Cabaret twice, the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, toured Australia, and performed in New York, Toronto, and across the UK. Her CD Hard Rain - The Songs of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, released in March 2014, has had 4 and 5 star reviews and been praised the world over. She's been a guest on Start The Week, Saturday Live, A Good Read on BBC Radio 4, appeared in a program celebrating the lives of the great divas on BBC4 TV, and has written for The New Statesman. She has won awards including Time Out New York - Best Cabaret CD of the Year 2010, Time Out New York - Best Cabaret 2008, Nightlife Award for Outstanding Cabaret Vocalist 2008, and Backstage Award for Best International Artist 2003. Barb is accompanied by her musical collaborator in New York, the renowned pianist, MD and songwriter Tracy Stark. There is a $35-$70 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

TODAY'S SCHEDULE ON LINE - MARATHON ENDS SUNDAY, JANUARY 4th AT 7:00 AM! OLD RECORD SURPASSED ON JANUARY 2nd!CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE IS A PROUD CO-SPONSOR OF THIS EVENT

Featuring a mind-boggling 265 individual acts, with over 20 emcees, and a battalion of musicians, technicians and designers, the "Longest Variety Show Ever" opens on Thursday, January 1st at 7:00 pm and runs - continuously to Sunday, January 4th at 7:00 am at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440). The show spans six categories: music; burlesque; comedy/spoken word; drag; theatre/opera; magic/puppetry. Broadcast legend Joe Franklin (Guinness Book of World Records Longest Continuous Talk Show Host) will serve as grand marshal for the show.

At 60 continuous hours of entertainment the Metropolitan Room's bid to eclipse the Guinness World Record for longest variety show (currently standing at 12 hours and 8 minutes) is also poised to obliterate other records such as most performers in a single show. The event reached that goal at 7:13 am on Friday, January 2nd, CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE was proud to be in the room when that occurred.

Day passes for "The Longest Variety Show Ever" cost $25 per person, or $60 for a three-day pass. The club offers a complimentary beverage with each ticket purchased. There will be no food or beverage minimums throughout the marathon, except for the legendary Marilyn Maye, whose "By Request" (playing Friday & Saturday at 7:00 pm) requires a separate ticket purchase ($35 plus a two drink minimum). On two nights of the event, Friday & Saturday, January 2nd & 3rd, Marilyn Maye will perform a full hour show at 7:00 pm. (Separate ticket purchase necessary).
