NYC: DARYL SHERMAN - SUNDAY JAZZ BRUNCH AT NORTH SQUARE
Daryl Sherman sings with James Chirillo, guitar, and Boots Maleson, bass, at NORTH SQUARE (103 Waverly Place, NYC - 212 254-1200) on Sunday, December 28th with sets at 12:30 and 2:15 pm at part of the clubs Sunday Jazz Brunch series. For 14 years Ms. Sherman played and sang for savvy New Yorkers and international visitors at the Waldorf Astoria's famed Cole Porter Steinway. Sherman has performed at The Algonquin's Oak Room, Feinstein's, Rose Hall with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Dizzy's and 59E59 Theaters where she was lauded for her band singer role in a centennial tribute to Artie Shaw. As a sparkling mainstay of Manhattan's nightlife, there's hardly jazz joint, supper club, Chinese restaurant or hotel that Daryl has missed. Her many recordings are in regular national rotation on Cable TV's Music Choice and Sirius/XM Radio. She was presented the 2010 MAC Award "Best Major Recording" for her Johnny Mercer Centennial CD - which was used in a Mercer documentary produced by Clint Eastwood. Powerhouse singer Marissa Mulder will make her club debut at THE ROYAL ROOM at THE COLONY HOTEL (155 Hammond Avenue, Palm Beach, FL - 561-659-8100) Friday through Tuesday, December 26th through 30th at 8:00 pm. Marissa Mulder grew up in Syracuse, NY. She moved to New York City in 2007 and has gone on to become one of the most successful young cabaret artists on the NY scene. In 2011, she beat out 60 other singers to win the MetroStar Challenge at the Metropolitan Room. She has since performed at all the major clubs in NYC as well as touring throughout the country.
