LONDON: STEVE ROSS AND KAREN OBERLIN: CHEEK TO CHEEK

Two award-winning cabaret and concert performers, Karen Oberlin and Steve Ross join formidable forces in their new show 'CHEEK TO CHEEK - The Songs of Astaire and Rogers' to be presented at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Tuesday through Saturday, November 25th through 29th at 9:00 pm. In this charming show, Ross and Oberlin perform duets and solos from the iconic dance partners ten films, introducing many of the greatest songs by the Golden Age masters - the Gershwins, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Dorothy Fields, Jerome Kern, Johnny Mercer and more. Favourites such as "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off", "A Fine Romance", "A Foggy Day", "They Can't Take That Away From Me", "The Way You Look Tonight",as well as songs they sang alone and with other partners - such as Ginger's "We're In the Money" and "Embraceable You", which turned her into an overnight star (choreographed by none other than Fred Astaire!) and Fred's "Night and Day" and "Something's Gotta Give."• All of the great songwriters couldn't wait to write for this incomparable pair and Karen Oberlin and Steve Ross bring this glorious music to ebullient life. Their show evokes the style, humour and charm that have kept Fred and Ginger known, loved and admired since their first film appearance in "Flying Down to Rio" more than 80 years ago. Karen Oberlin's Ginger is the perfect match to Ross's Astaire. Call for cover/minimum information.
