THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) will attempt to achieve a Guinness World Record by presenting a 3-day, 60 hour, marathon Variety Show running from Thursday, January 1st (New Year's Day) at 7:00 pm through Sunday, January 4th at 7:00 am. The marathon, which is eligible to become a Guinness World Records record-holder for longest variety show ever, will feature up to 100 Metropolitan Room artists, from its most prominent stars to its most promising emerging talents. Broadcast legend Joe Franklin (Guinness Book of World Records Longest Continuous Talk Show Host) will serve as grand marshal for the show. To smash the record, for the first 22 hours, four acts per hour will be seen in ten-minute sets (a total of 88 acts over that stretch).  After the 22-hour mark, an average of three acts will perform every hour (another 114 acts over a 38-hour stretch)

On two nights of the event, Friday & Saturday, January 2nd & 3rd, Marilyn Maye will perform a full hour show at 7:00 pm. (Separate ticket purchase necessary).

There are no other food/drink minimums except for the Marilyn Maye shows.

Audience members who attend the longest -- either for unbroken stretches of time or for combined attendance recorded over three days -- will win special prizes and be entered in the official record of the event.  Sleeping will not be permitted in the showroom.

Since the release of his 2004 critically acclaimed CD "When I Fall In Love," Chris Botti has become the largest-selling American instrumental artist. NYC: DARYL SHERMAN AT CAFE NOCTAMBULO AT PANGEA

Daryl Sherman will celebrate the arrival of 2015 at CAFE NOCTAMBULO AT PANGEA (178 Second Avenue, NYC - 212-995-0900) on Wednesday, December 31st from 9:00 pm to 1:00 am on the 1st of January. She is joined by bassist Harvie S and drummer Phil Stewart. For 14 years Ms. Sherman played and sang for savvy New Yorkers and international visitors at the Waldorf Astoria's famed Cole Porter Steinway. Last June, she headlined the annual Cole Porter Festival in his hometown of Peru, IN. Sherman has performed at The Algonquin's Oak Room, Feinstein's, Rose Hall with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Dizzy's Coca Cola and 59E59 Theaters where she was lauded for her band singer role in a centennial tribute to Artie Shaw. As a sparkling mainstay of Manhattan's nightlife, there's hardly jazz joint, supper club, Chinese restaurant or hotel that Daryl has missed. Her many recordings are in regular national rotation on Cable TV's Music Choice and Sirius/XM Radio. She was presented the 2010 MAC Award "Best Major Recording" for her Johnny Mercer Centennial CD - which was used in a Mercer documentary produced by Clint Eastwood. Jazz legend Annie Ross continues her unprecedented, record-breaking, multi-year run at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440), every Tuesday night at 9:30 pm. Ms. Ross has been an abundant contributor to the art of jazz for over 50 years. Born in the UK, she has been a permanent resident of the USA for many years and a US citizen since 2001. Annie Ross is one of the pioneers of vocalese and the composer of "Twisted", one of the most well known examples of that art, as well as "Farmers Market", "Jackie" and many others. A founding member of Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, considered the greatest jazz vocal ensemble of all time, her influence is present in all subsequent practitioners of vocalese. "Twisted" has been recorded by a host of vocalists, including some not normally associated with jazz, including Joni Mitchell and Bette Midler. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) will attempt to achieve a Guinness World Record by presenting a 3-day, 60 hour, marathon Variety Show running from Thursday, January 1st (New Year's Day) at 7:00 pm through Sunday, January 4th at 7:00 am. The marathon, which is eligible to become a Guinness World Records record-holder for longest variety show ever, will feature up to 100 Metropolitan Room artists, from its most prominent stars to its most promising emerging talents. Broadcast legend Joe Franklin (Guinness Book of World Records Longest Continuous Talk Show Host) will serve as grand marshal for the show. To smash the record, for the first 22 hours, four acts per hour will be seen in ten-minute sets (a total of 88 acts over that stretch).  After the 22-hour mark, an average of three acts will perform every hour (another 114 acts over a 38-hour stretch)

On two nights of the event, Friday & Saturday, January 2nd & 3rd, Marilyn Maye will perform a full hour show at 7:00 pm. (Separate ticket purchase necessary).

Day passes cost $25 per person, or $60 for a three-day pass. The club offers a complimentary beverage with each ticket purchased. There are no other food/drink minimums except for the Marilyn Maye shows.

Audience members who attend the longest -- either for unbroken stretches of time or for combined attendance recorded over three days -- will win special prizes and be entered in the official record of the event.  Sleeping will not be permitted in the showroom.

Powerhouse singer Marissa Mulder will make her club debut at THE ROYAL ROOM at THE COLONY HOTEL (155 Hammond Avenue, Palm Beach, FL - 561-659-8100) Friday through Tuesday, December 26th through 30th at 8:00 pm. Marissa Mulder grew up in Syracuse, NY. She moved to New York City in 2007 and has gone on to become one of the most successful young cabaret artists on the NY scene. In 2011, she beat out 60 other singers to win the MetroStar Challenge at the Metropolitan Room. She has since performed at all the major clubs in NYC as well as touring throughout the country.
