CABARET TONIGHT IN NYC: JAZZ SAXOPHONIST LIVIO ALMEIDA AT THE MET
Livio Almeida will perform at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, December 1st at 9:30 pm. Almeida is a young saxophone/ woodwinds player and composer/ arranger from Brazil, who got his Bachelor in Classical Saxophone in Brasilia, Brazil. He is joined by the other members of his quartet: Klaus Miller: Piano, Eduardo Belo: Bass and Alex Kautz: Drums. Livio's magnificent performances in New York City have attracted people from different ethnic backgrounds as well as Brazilian music lovers. He has been invited to play with world class musicians such as Mike Holober, Adam O'Farril, Zack O'Farrill, grammy winner pianist Arturo O'Farrill, Boris Koslov, Jim Seeley, Cidinho Teixeira, Helio Schiavo, Helio Alves, Klaus Mueller, Jon Gordon among others in traditional venues in NYC such as Dizzy's Coca-Cola Club, The Jazz Gallery, Puppet's Jazz Bar, Sweet Rhythm, Cornelia Street Cafe, Tutuma Social Club, SOB's, BAM Cafe, The Falcon, Barbes Jazz Cafe, Symphony Space, and Birdland as well as the CareFusion New York Jazz Festival besides touring around US and abroad. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
