NYC: "OH SANDY" TO BENEFIT FRIENDS OF MARYBETH RELIEF EFFORT

NYC: "OH SANDY" TO BENEFIT FRIENDS OF MARYBETH RELIEF EFFORT

At THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Tuesday, November 13th at 10:00 pm, over a dozen of Broadway's brightest stars will be singing songs of hope, love, and, quite possibly, Grease to benefit the Friends of Marybeth and Cohort 3 helping aid victims of Hurricane Sandy in Staten Island and other affected areas in NYC. Performers already confirmed for the event include Corey Cott ('Jack Kelly' in Newsies), Will Blum ('Elder Cunningham' in The Book of Mormon), Zak Resnick ('Skye' in Mamma Mia), Hunter Ryan Herdlicka ('Henrik' in A Little Night Music), Lora Lee Gayer ('Young Sally' in Follies), Kara Lindsay ('Katherine Plumber' in Newsies), Hannah Elless ('Bless The Lord' soloist in Godspell), Tess Soltau ('Rapunzel' in Into the Woods), Russell Fischer ('Joey' in Jersey Boys), Jenna Leigh Green (Wicked, 'Libby' in Sabrina, The Teenage Witch), Jessica Waxman (Pure Country), with more to be announced. The evening will be music directed by Benjamin Rauhala. "Oh Sandy" has been organized by Staten Island-native Marrick Smith, an actor/writer, and recent graduate of Carnegie Mellon University. After days of volunteering at shelters and helping rebuild his neighborhood, Marrick was inspired to gather the theater community together to help raise funds for Friends of Maribeth and Cohort 3. The performers all graciously leaped t the opportunity to help support our community. This will undoubtedly be a powerful evening as our theater community joins together in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. There is a $20 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.
